  • I kind of laugh when you keep posting this now :)
    It's okay.  I do, too.
  • Do you just copy and paste your same update from week to week?
Usually, but you'll notice this that week I've actually announced official TTCing in the near future.  It's epic.
    Does DH know?
Shhhhh...why do you think I've posted it in the pact?  Kelly knows my secret.

    I'm charting religiously this cycle.
I'm telling myself I won't be a chart fanatic,  but let's face it... I'll be ordering another basal thermometer and signing up for Fertility Friend immediately after my first BFN.

My crazy late O'ing last cycle pissed me off.  So here I am.
It was Christmas.  Christmas does that.

Wait OR are you actively trying or NTNP? Or where in there?
That is a very good question.
Does your DH know?  Maybe Kelly's right about us...

I think I may start to chart for my own sanity.

I don't want to go back on birth control. And I think it's about time I start keeping track. I'm guessing I'll be all over the place when I start actually keeping track of things.

And my first period decided to grace me with its presents just before Christmas.

I'm planning on trying in March, and it happened relatively quickly last time.  However, I know it is nonsense to presume the same for this time around, so I'm charting to get the lay of the land.  But not using protection.  And sort of abstaining on certain days.  And sort of not.
High five for trying in March!  And for using sketchy birth control in the meantime!
  • Charting sucks with a kid.  This week I was totally annoyed at my temp the day after my IUI. So i changed it. So now FF says I O'd on the day of my IUI and that makes me feel better even though I totally tampered with my data and blamed my kid waking up and my own insomnia.

Also contributed to my pessimism thinking I hadn't O'd yet.  But i NEVER get 3-5 hours sleep at that hour.
Is there a stretch where you do get the required hours of sleep?  Maybe you could try temping in the MOTN if you have a regular wake up schedule.

  • We went to Playa del Carmen right before our first attempt at TTC. It's good luck!

We're planning on TTC #2 sometime in the next 6-12 months. When J is ovulating she wants to be pregnant, the other 26 days of the month she doesn't. I'd be up for carrying #2, but I'm super nervous about getting previa again and accreta so I'd want to give my silly old ute a little more time to heal first. I wish J would just make up her mind about it already.

  • I want three babies. J seems to be getting more on board with the possibility, considering that we talked with an insurance provider today about hospital payout coverage and short term disability. So I may be rejoining the pact! ... In like, two years, but still!
    This is awesome.

We thought 2 would be our limit.  But when my husband started watching them interact and my sister-in-laws kids, he actually told me he wouldn't mind 3 or 4.

We just have to see where we are at financially when my husband finishes his MBA.  We need a bigger house if we want more kids.  2 bedrooms is fine, but would not work with 3 kids.

  • TJ and stringy you should come with me! It's a bit of a working trip for my H where he has to do a lot of schmoozing and I could really use some drinking buddies.

    We have 2 bedrooms and 4 kids...just sayin'. :)
    Do you bunk them?

Ideally we could get by with 3 bedrooms because I would like to separate boy/girl eventually.

I'm ordering a set a bunk beds that are two twin beds.

The other issue is our house was built in 68/69 so the rooms are on the smaller side.  We can really only fit two twin beds and a highboy dresser in their room.

My neighbors have 9 kids that share two bedrooms.  Not even very big bedrooms, either.  You can see the bunk beds stacked against the windows.   :D
  • Are we talking 2-bedroom houses, or two kids' bedrooms + 1 adult bedroom?

  • I mean, how much room do you really need to sleep? As long as you have a bed...
This would work fine for us if we had all girls or all boys.  Eventually we should split them.

How much room do you have in the rest of your house?  We have about 1100 sq ft on the first floor and a half finished basement.  But really the basement is our office/storage/movie room.

And yes we only have 2 bedrooms in the house.  One is ours and one is the kids.

I love our house, but I'd really like to upgrade to 3 bedrooms and a 1/2 bath off of the master.  Plus I'd love a functional 2 car garage that has access to the house.  I don't need a massive house.  I'd actually prefer not to have a huge house.  I hate cleaning this one as it is.

@theultimatesak‌ when do you transfer a baby into the kids' room? I've been trying to figure out how we would do this with a second kid. We have a large bedroom upstairs that would be a perfect shared kids room, but how do you handle a baby who needs to night nurse and a toddler who would like to be sleeping? After about 4 months M sleeps better in her own room, but still wakes up to feed most every night.
Our toddler sleeps through most of the night wakings.  Even when we let him cry for a few minutes she never really stirs.  I've even gone into the room to rock him for a few minutes and she mostly just rolls over and does an annoyed sigh at me if she even moves.

We moved C over at about 9 months, but I think we might have been too cautious and we really couldn't get a good handle on getting them both to sleep at the same time.

I now feed him a bottle of milk before bed, brush his teeth, read a book together, turn out the lights, sing a few songs with both, kiss E goodnight, kiss C goodnight, and lay him down in his crib fully awake.

Usually one of them cries out for a minute and they both go to bed.

  • For the record, my pediatrician said at 4 months you could put them together.  He has 3 boys that shared rooms at some point.  But really it's what works best for you.

This is us too, 1000 sq ft on the main floor and an unfinished shelf basement. We are debating whether or not to excavate and finish the basement or just move. That bunkbed setup is pretty sweet but I'm 99% sure we couldn't fit that in our 2nd bedroom. Decisions, decisions. A garage and bigger yard would make it worth it to move, as long as we can stay close to where we are now. I refuse to move to suburbia.
