I did standing with both of my boys. They really seem to get a kick out of it.
There are several problems - they need to learn to aim. I am forever moving the potty around to follow DS2's stream because he can't really direct it yet. (Even DS1 still has trouble with aim!) The other problem is that DS2 seems to prefer standing, so going poo has been more challenging. FWIW, I am not sure if that is due to the fact that we trained him standing, or if it just would have been challenging anyway...
