Had a scare today : (

Went in for my monthly checkup. They were just doing a belly check and after about 5mins in, the Dr was still unable to find the babies heartbeat..I was so scared and started tearing up. All the Dr kept saying was I hear it doing circles but it wasn't comforting me at all. Finally she went to the ultrasound machine where we cld see my babies heartbeat and it was such a relief... Has anyone else experienced this? I've never been so scared in my life. To top it off, my husband had to work and cldnt join me so I was alone..

    We had the same thing happen at our 12 week appointment. Definitely a scary feeling. Glad everything is ok.

    Oh how scary!! I have my A/S in two weeks and I'm getting anxious! I'm glad everything is okay and they were able to find Los heartbeat!

    Oh hon. That is scary. My daughter used to scoot away from the Doppler so they used the ultrasound on me at every appointment. We could never get her HB on the Doppler.

    They couldn't find the heart rate with the Doppler at 9 weeks or 13 weeks for me. They almost couldn't find it at 17 weeks. My doc told me it's just inconsistent until about 15-16 weeks, plus my tater tot is a mover and a shaker...that kiddo was all over the place! They took me back for an US both times so I had some peace of mind.

    Yeah sometimes my doctor can't figure out exactly where the baby is and then she will find him & we will hear the heartbeat. I'm so sorry you went through a small scare but I'm glad the outcome turned out for the better :)

    The baby was swimming away from my Dr. at my last appointment.  She said that s/he is a busy body already.  :) Glad they were able to find it on the u/s.

    Glad you got to see baby! My dr took a long time (well it felt like forever, it was probably like a minute in real time) to find a heartbeat with the doppler at my 15 week appointment. She finally did find it and it would scoot away from her so fast it actually took awhile to get a count of BPM!

    This happened when I was 20 weeks with my DD. I know how scary those moments are. I'm so glad baby is fine!

    That happened to me last week! The doctor couldn't find the hb at my 16 week appointment and they do not have a bedside ultrasound machine so I had to wait a week and thankfully everything was a ok! It's so scary because all you think is the very worst!

    One time it took a few minutes to find, I was freaking out! Finally, my doctor found it. A wonderful sound to hear. <3

    I'm glad to hear you're both ok!

    I've been to an appointment that turned miserable and ever since, my mother told me she will always be available to come with me if DH can't. I'm so grateful to her for that.

    I feel for you- it is so hard when it takes them a while to find the HB. So glad your LO is ok and I'm sorry you had to go through that !

    Thankyou ladies for all your kind words! Today I'm 17weeks so I thought the Dr wld be able to find my babies heartbeat with ease. Now hopefully my husband can understand a little bit better why I always get nervous right before baby appts even though I am super excited as well! You just never know what to expect so you try to prepare with an open mind.
