Elimination diet

My baby is EBF. She had started breaking out in rashes and was extremely fussy and gassy so I cut out wheat/gluten, soy, dairy and nuts. The issues have gotten much better but now I'm wondering how to introduce foods back into my diet to see what exactly was causing them. For moms that have done this, did you just have a small bit of each food at a time (one piece of bread or 1 egg) and how long did you wait between each food? TIA!

  • I have not done this for my LO, but I did an elimination diet for myself. The rule was only add 1 food in at a time, once a day for a week. It can take several days to begin to react again and a reaction is typically more pronounced when the culprit is added back in after it has been removed. When the week is up, remove.that food from your diet again (even if there was no reaction) while testing other foods.
