I am a home health nurse and the company I work for has slowly given me less and less work as I get closer to going on my maternity leave. I have never asked for less work and in fact I've made it a point many times to ask for more. I am a per diem employee so I am not guaranteed any patients but I have worked for this company for over two years and have never had this issue. A fellow nurse I work with was offered a new patient in my area and when she asked why it wasn't scheduled to me the supervisor told her they weren't giving me any more patients because I would be going on leave soon. When I ask my supervisor why I've been so short on patients she says the whole company is slow right now. I can hardly survive on the amount of patients I am seeing now and I still have three more weeks to work. I'm not sure what to do or if there's anything I can do. It does not seem fair that I've been cut hours simply because I won't be there in a few weeks. Any advice?

Someone called off at my job at the hospital yesterday and I was doing two benches (the work of two people) in like 100 degrees because they can't regulate the damn temp. Not fun! Rant over.
