I was advised to dress "jacket/slacks" for my meetings next week.
Easy. I have suits.
Know what I do not have?
One suit in which both the jacket and the pants BOTH FIT ME right now, today. I weight 2 lbs more than I did in September. Fit then. Now? Not so much.
With sports, activities, commitments and hosting a football party on Sunday....zero time to shop.
So - can I wear suit pants with a blazer that is not from that suit and it's OK?
I mean, I have before, but for some reason I am really hung up on this today. Also, just stepped on the my favorite black heels, breaking off heel. Zero bandwidth to contemplate cobbler - the last one lost my shoes for two weeks. Does anyone wear nude heels with black pants / black jacket / nude and black lace shell?
(Can you tell I have WFH for years now, and had a few "go to" outfits for meetings??? Shoot me.)
Re: Suits/Jackets/Wardrobe Malfunction
Recs for comfortable - really, really comfortable - new black heels?
I have worn the same pair for YEARS (8?) and just repair them because they don't hurt me. And with zero time to break them in....every other pair I have bought have rubbed my feet raw.
I agree that the way they worded it, a jacket and slacks that don't match are fine. I'm a huge fan of Cole Haan Nike Air wedges, if you're OK with wedges. They are ridiculously comfortable. I've never worn a pair of dress shoes that never rubbed or gave me any kind of blister on day 1. And I feel like they can be dressed both up and down easily.
Try aerosoles for super comfort, or Born. Neither are very stylish, but if you are looking for comfort they fit the bill.

Then. When you have a minute go to a reputable shoe retailer (nordstrom is great for this) and get measured. Honestly. If ever pair you've tried to buy for 8 years is rubbing raw I think you're likely off size - too big small or too wide/narrow.
I've seen a lot of women surprised by a pro shoe-sizing. It's like getting a pro bra-sizing.
Good luck!
