UPDATE: I passed the sac last night when I got home from work, three days after taking the Cytotec. I'm relieved to have that part over and to be able to avoid another D&C.
Hi ladies, sorry this is long.
Well, I'm back after having my third loss. My history for mobile folks: My first loss was a CP last February. I got pregnant again the next cycle only to find out at the NT scan at 12w6d that our baby's heart had stopped and baby was measuring 11w4d. I had a D&C in May, then a second D&C a month later for retained tissue.
We never saw a heartbeat this time. At 6w1d I went in for an ultrasound and was measuring a week behind. We could only see the gestational sac and yolk sac, no fetal pole. I was confident, based on when I got my BFP, that there was no way I ovulated a week late. My doctor said it could go either way and scheduled me for a follow up ultrasound a week later. Over the next week my symptoms started to increase, which got my hopes up unfortunately. But the next ultrasound only showed 2-3 days growth and still no fetal pole.
I opted for Cytotec because I wanted to avoid having a third D&C in a year's time. But I don't think it worked. I took 6 doses over a 24 hour period and I had some heavy bleeding at times and passed a few small clots, but I don't think I passed the sac. I'm planning to call my doctor and request an ultrasound to check. If I haven't passed everything, I guess I'll schedule a D&C.
My doctor gave me a referral to an RE for repeat loss testing. Hoping we'll be able to find some answers and get a plan soon. We'll be TTA in the meantime.
