2nd Trimester

Are these horrible cramps a sign of anything else?

This is my second child and I am fully aware that pregnancy comes with aches and pains, but these are awful! It's almost always at night, but sometimes at work (I sit in a chair all day, but I do get up and stretch/walk frequently). The pain starts in my hips, depending on which side I'm laying on, my thighs cramp, calves, and now it seems like my whole body- all the way through my arms and neck. Occasionally they are so bad they bring me to tears. My legs have started going numb and once in a while my arms too.
The symptoms indicate plain old dehydration, but I feel like I drink enough water. I run to the bathroom at least every other hour. My concern is: does it indicate any other issues?  With my first pregnancy I was put on bed rest at 33 weeks. I was told the amniotic fluid was low and I needed to take it easy and drink lots of water. I drank as much as I could and my little boy still had to be induced at 37 weeks due to low fluid. At the start of my pregnancy, the doctor told me it was likely the same could happen.
I am hoping I am being paranoid, but I ignored indications of problems last time telling myself I was overreacting. It turned out I wasn't. When I asked the doctor she dismissed my concerns because there is no fever (there never was last time either). Does anyone have any insight or helpful information?

  • Thank you both, I did call back and she ordered a sono to look things over. Waiting and hoping they tell me I'm paranoid....she did however mention that she is also going to take a second look for what could be an echogenic bowel
