Spelling Help

Hi Ladies - We have our girl name picked out, but I wanted some help with the spelling and potential nickname (I'm crazy for nicknames!). The name is Alannah (A-lah-nah) Jean. How would you spell Alannah (just my first instinct to spell it this way) to get the correct pronunciation? Also we're deciding between the nicknames AJ or Lani. All your suggestions are appreciated!

I prefer the spelling Alana. I'm not sure why anyone would have issues with the pronunciation. It seems pretty straightforward to me.

ETA: I like Lani better than AJ.
