Wtf

My LO who has always been a bed time routine of change your diaper, get in your sleep sack, play your music with lights, give a kiss and walk out with ease ... Has been horrid the past 2 days. He keeps saying there are monsters and to save him wtf. It's not like he is watching r rated movies lol finally after an hour I had it and just said enough and let him scream. Any ideas wtf happened

Re: Wtf

  • That's worth a try. He keeps going "I'm scared" it just breaks my heart.

  • Well, sad, but also what a big boy sentiment.  I cannot even imagine M saying that.  I do not know if she even knows what monsters are.  When she screams when she's in bed, we pretty much assume she just is hungry (as we did when she was tiny), and bring her some water.  Maybe we need to get with the program and realize she's not a baby anymore, or maybe your kid is really 6.
  • I'm impressed he can understand and verbalize that fear. When Mac cries in his bed he just cries for mama or dada, he doesn't verbalize much else and calms right down with a cuddle.

Hopefully he can get over this fear and you can help him understand he is safe. Good luck and sorry for having no helpful advice/suggestions.

  • Lmao sometimes I think he's 6 @brachysira‌
He's been an early talker from the get go so I'm used to him expressing his feelings/needs like that lol I'm just baffled on where this came from and how to get him over it.

Thanks for the good thoughts tho ladies :)

  • Does he know what monsters are? Has anyone in his life talked to him about monsters or asked if he's scared of them? Kids are so open to suggestion at this age. They'll also say anything that they think will make you take them back out of the crib at night!

I'm sorry he's so scared right now. I hope bedtime gets easier.

  • No idea but I'm starting to think my kid is afraid of the dark. I'm going to get him a night light tomorrow. I just find it odd because he's always slept in a pitch dark room. Maybe it's something to do with this age?

  • Well he has the night that shoots stars that clips to his crib and plays music that turns off after 20 min. Maybe I will get him a nightlight he can hold. He does know what monsters are from sesame street (of course I think they are cute and that was his first bday theme lol) he knows they are pretend tho so I'm not sure what started it like this. Well I think like was said don't talk about them and do really happy things b4 bed and we will see. If not we are making monster spray lol
