Goopy eye

We have one gooey left eye. I wipe it out like crazy with a warm washcloth to no avail. I've tried the infamous breast milk in the eye and it didn't work. Anything else I can try?

    We have the same problem, in both eyes, and have since birth (she's 3 months (13 weeks 1 day) today.  We have tried: warm washcloths, massaging under the eye and between the eye and nose, sterile saline drops, breast milk and prescription antibiotics.  Nothing has stopped them.  She may need surgery in a year, but hoping it works itself out by then.

    Fun fact: I thought it was clogged until the goop stops but no, she gets a crazy amount of tears when she cries and still the goop!

    What is the name of the drops? Was it for an eye infection or a clogged tear duct?

    We were prescribed Ciprofloxacin Ophthalmic Solution...whatever that is.  :)
