Morning ladies! I hope you all had a great weekend. The year is still young. How is everyone doing this year so far?
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
We are a group of women striving to live healthier lives, whether that means losing weight, gaining weight, sticking to a specific diet, counting calories, avoiding counting calories, starting to exercise, continuing to exercise or anything in between.
We check in on Mondays and follow up with an accountability on Fridays (our favorite post of the week, because we love encouraging each other and celebrating all our successes!).
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Many of us are using MyFitnessPal to keep track of our eating and our exercise. MFP is a great tool to keep yourself accountable, and because it is set up as a social network site, we can cheer you on there as well as here. If you are using MFP and have not found us yet, let us know so we can friend you!

Re: Healthy Living Check In -1/12/2015
The Bad: There were a couple of bad food days while we were running errands that kept us out late. Since it is difficult for me to go out to eat, we found ourselves getting fast to cook foods at the grocery store. It wasn't as bad as it would have been at one point, but it wasn't great.
The Proud: Going up in my bench press weight! Also, deciding to go ahead and bike to the grocery store yesterday even though it was just to make a return and it was around 40 degrees. Hey, why not?
Your Plan: Tonight is at least an hour and a half on the bike trainer. Any day that it is not raining/snowing I'll be outside on the bike. Tonight is also leg day with the weights, so that will be interesting on a day I push myself with the bike! Keep up with the meal plans. They help.
QOTW: What was your most embarrassing hair style? One time I was really tired of my bangs, so I cut them off. Which....doesn't actually work I found out.
Picture this, but worse. So very long with really stupid looking short bangs.

The good - 2 workouts last week and we went snowboarding Saturday!
The bad - there's a lot of chocolate in my house from Christmas. I should put it away but I keep eating it.
The proud - nada
The plan - at least 2 workouts this week. Try to stop snacking so much. I only have until the 26th or so before I can't diet.
QOTW - I have super thick wavy hair in. In jr high I wanted short hair. Not good. Picture like a giant triangle of hair. I need the length to weigh it down!
PgAL welcome

The Good:
I am still so very pumped up about my new mindset to get healthy! I made some really good choices, one of which was not to go to Taco Bell and get the 3 Gordita Crunches I wanted after my drinking Sat night! I have been pretty good at cutting out the carbs past 2-3 pm too, which is hard. I love my carbs
The Bad:
I drank a little bit Friday and Saturday night and it included some frufru drinks that may have had too much sugar
I AM DOWN 4 POUNDS! I know that sounds like a lot for a week but with the body pump, healthier eating, and limiting carbs to almost zero past 2-3, it's not surprising to me. I gained quite a bit pretty quickly so my first week is usually a good one. I don't expect to lose more than 2 pounds a week in moving forward.
Your Plan:
Keep on with the Body Pump schedule which means working out 6 days a week. Also keep with limiting the carbs later in the day. I bought some sammich meats that I will eat for dinner along with salad and also stay on the work out schedule.
QOTW: What was your most embarrassing hair style?
The Bad: We brewed beer and bottled our cider yesterday... which meant we drank a lot! Drinking is where I get stuck. We used to do a "no beer in the house unit Friday" thing. Might have to get back to that. Tough though, when your basement is filled with homebrew and hard ciders...
The Proud: We are doing meal planning so there is healthy food in the house throughout the week. Both of us are super busy in the evenings, so if any meal is going to get screwed up, it is dinner. Making plans and doing shopping before hand really helps with that.
Your Plan: Keep up meal planning. Get to the gym 3 mornings a week and keep up with at least one outdoor/active activity on the weekends. Then when spring comes start training for the half marathons.
QOTW: What was your most embarrassing hair style?
Every hair style I've ever had except long with no bangs. I have super straight hair that won't do anything other than be straight. Everything else I try with it ends up looking like messed up straight hair. We keep things long and plain in this house.

Thanks for the check-in @Menrandes!
The Good: I feel good. Last week involved some changes with Smoothies for breakfast everyday and then a second one twice that week for dinner after the gym. I was worried that I would be hungry, but it has been good. I feel energized like I did when I got a B12 shot years ago.
The Bad: We went to a friend's house to watch the game Saturday night. While there, we ordered pizza. It was a drunken fourth meal.
The Proud: I ran 5 miles both days this weekend. I also rode my bike for 5 miles right after the run yesterday.
Your Plan: I plan on going to the gym for classes three days this week. Monday and Thursday's class will be followed by a Smoothie dinner. We planned it better this week, where I cooked extra dinner last nigth so that it can be leftovers reheated for DH's dinner tonight.
QOTW: What was your most embarrassing hair style?
Like many of you that have already posted, I tried a shorter style but did not think about the hair weighing less. I tried a bob and it flew up in strange ways. It wasn't like it flew up the same all around. No, there were sections that made up their own minds. I grew it back out as soon as it would!

The Bad: I had a cold that took hold last Tues and so I didn't exercise Thurs or Fri and didn't eat all that well over the weekend.
The Proud: I started the beta series on Focus T25
Your Plan: Continue the beta series and get back on track now that I'm feeling better.
QOTW: What was your most embarrassing hair style? In the early 90's, the hair pulled back with long bangs in a huge, long, hair-sprayed curl on the side of my face.

The Good: I did my intro seminar for my surgery and enrolled in the program woth my insurance.
The Bad: I drank a lot, and I'm having a bad food day today.
The Proud: I'm moving forward and making good decisions for the long term.
Your Plan: Continue tracking food and working out.
QOTW: What was your most embarrassing hair style? When I was a kid I wanted a short bob, but I guess I didn't describe it very well because I ended up with this weird boy haircut. I cried and cried. Short hair is not my thing.
@Km380 - Oh, I still have the chocolate sitting around too. Ugh!
@Nikolie93 - Congrats on the weight loss! Sounds like it's really working for you. =D>
@PowerOfBacon - I hope having a healthy non-beered fridge makes your choices easier. Good luck with the C25K. A friend of mine swears by that workout to get into running more.
@bluedaisy0627 - Good job in contacting a therapist. Sometimes just recognizing that you need help is the hardest part. Just put the holidays behind you and focus on moving forward.
@heartbot - Congrats on your Yoga challenge. There's nothing wrong with splurging every once in a while on date night.
@TowerClimbersWife - Sounds like you have all of the motivation to work out more with a gym membership and a marathon coming up. Kudos!
@flyoffeve - That's awesome how much exercising you are getting in!
@Elliecat17 - That's an awesome start to the week. I should get back into the smoothies...
@catvaughn5002 - Congrats on the weight loss!

@Nikolie93 Woo!!! great weight loss! And great job with the dedication of your workouts!
@PowerOfBacon It's great having a healthy looking filled fridge, isn't it? Great job on starting back up with C25K. Wow, you are going to be one active lady! Your new hair style sounds awesome
@bluedaisy0627 Yep, if the food isn't there, you can't eat it! So so very true. If you keep healthy food, you will eat healthy food. So true about the gym this time of year. Unfortunately (fortunately for gym regulars I guess), they will empty back out again soon.
@heartbot I recommend giving the cookies away! It's so my easier to eat the healthy stuff if the unhealthy stuff isn't around. Great job with the yoga!
@TowerClimbersWife We brew here too. It's rough with trying to limit it. We have a rule of one drink (wine or cider) a work-night. Works pretty well. We also share our stuff a lot. Which I guess helps keep our stock down!
@flyoffeve Great job with your smoothies! I keep saying I'm going to do it, but then don't. You have been doing so well with your running lately. That's awesome!
@Elliecat17 Woo! Starting your week strong!
@catvaughn5002 Whoa! Nice weight loss. Good job lady!
@rmpar29 Nice job on the weight loss! It's rough being healthy when you are sick. But I am glad that you are feeling better and hopefully your week will be awesome!
@renegadewhit Maybe it sounds weird, but I am so proud of you! And great job keeping up with the healthy living lifestyle! You are going to rock with healthy living.
@anarossi01 whoa..that's expensive. Any local colleges? We have a college near us that does pool memberships.
@Kellybenelly83 Exercising 3 times during the week is a great thing! You don't want to push yourself too hard too fast, you know? Ease into working out more! Doing food prep for snack is a great idea. They less work you have to do when you are hungry, the better!
