Another u/s little guys giving me a run for my money- update

my last maternity clinic appt. Has my fundal height 4 weeks ahead little turkey. This will be ultrasound number 4! Hoping everything's okay! I did not consult dr google lol! Im waiting to see my doctor but wanted to vent, haven't talked about it with any of my friends here.

Update: so his head is measuring bigger than his body, the dr i had today is worried about growth restriction or my placenta will quit working.. Have to wait for the obstetrics deptartment to call and of course I fell flat on my butt on ice after

My son consistently measured 3-4 weeks ahead, he was perfect, just a big baby (9 lbs 12 oz) and a large placenta. Third trimester u/s tend to be a little less accurate than earlier u/s for some of the size measurements as well. FX everything is fine with your LO and your OB can give you some better insight.

This will be my 4 us for measuring ahead too. It's getting a little much. My last us showed that I had extra fluid and now this one on Tuesday is to see if my fluid has changed.
Just know you are not alone...

So this may be a silly question? How does the Dr know if you are ahead/behind? or if your fluid is ok, etc?

I see my Dr every two weeks and every visit she checks the heartbeat and feels my belly and measures my belly. She always sais everything is perfect. Would she be able to tell if my size was off just by feeling measuring?
Just a paranoid FTM is all

@lisap0924 the measurement is what they are looking for. It is 1cm/week pregnant. So at 31 weeks, you should be 31cm from pubic bone to the top of your uterus. Obviously this is not an exact science, but it gives them a frame of reference. You may consistantly be bigger or smaller, and they take that into account. A red flag would be if your belly stayed the same size for a month, got smaller, suddenly grew 8cm in 4 weeks, etc. Major deviaton from YOUR normal would indicate a problem worth doing an ultrasound for.

FWIW, my coworker consistently measured 5 weeks ahead with her son. She looked so enormous! Ultrasounds showed that she had a particularly big placenta and that the kid just liked to hang out in a position that made her stomach bigger. She ended up being 10 days late, too, so by the time he was born she was measuring around 46 weeks pregnant! He was born a perfectly healthy 8lb little guy.

@lisap0924 That's all that happens at my appointments too. Belly measurement and heartbeat!

We have a very active playful little dude! He was trying grab his foot in this photo! she said he's measuring 2 weeks by u/s not 4 which is where he's been most of the time! So unless there was something she couldn't discuss im not to worried. We see the dr friday

Four weeks ahead?! Wow, your little one is growing fast. I know what you mean about ultrasounds- I had my SEVENTH ultrasound at 28w... (Everything since then has looked up. So I don't think I'll need any more. Fingers crossed!!)

Latest update! Im going to see a high risk ob on the 2nd for assessment fingers crossed it's nothing.. Im trying hard not to get anxious

Looks like im potentially have a big baby lol his growth is measuring consistent he's measuring 7lbs, was 4.4 at 32 weeks, head is 39 (at 32 his head was 36) body 37 (34 at 32 weeks) they aren't worried because his growth was consistent so fingers crossed for a boring 5 more weeks
