Re: ***Weight Loss Check In***

  • Last week I am pleased to say that I went to the gym twice and ran for 20 minutes the first time (OMG my legs were sore for days) and was forced to go on the elliptical the second time because I'm an idiot and forgot my sneakers and didn't want to attempt to run in my boots! I also went on my bike once last week. I need to get it together and bike 3 days a week and run/elliptical 2x a week. This is the plan for the next five weeks. I also plan on incorporating leg exercises since my legs are a hot mess.

Does anyone have any advice on toning the legs?

The fiance and I had our last drink session at a friends party Saturday night. We have agreed that we will not drink again until our wedding week, which is holy shit 6 weeks away!

Speaking of the wedding I'm supposed to go back to Davids Bridal next Saturday to get my dress fitted, but I'm trying to find a tailor/seamstress close to my house that will be able to turn the dress around quicker than the 4 weeks DB apparently needs.

QOTW: I have two cats Chelsea and Parker and two dogs Chili and Pepper. Chelsea is named after the neighborhood in London where I went to school when I studied abroad. Parker was found in a trailer park in Blythe, CA so we named him Parker. Pepper was just given that name because she is a spicy dog and when we rescheduled Chili almost four months ago we thought having two small dogs named Chili and Pepper would by hysterical, she also shivers a lot and gets chilly easily LOL! Parker and Pepper are BFF's and chase each other around the house all day. Below is what my nights usually look like in front of the TV. Chelsea the big old cat is missing because she is anti social lol!

  • Yay for gym time!

I have lost two pounds. I'm going on one month of daily hour long workouts and just started week three of food and exercise journaling. I'm also taking my time between bites for most meals. The first 5k I'm doing this year (walking) is on the 24th and I'm so excited!

Q: Coffey was named after John Coffey, who was the man with a special gift to heal people on the Stephen King novel and movie, the Green Mile. It's one of my favorite books and movies. I joke that Coffey has his own powers of healing. He's so sweet when I'm upset and just stays with me all the time. He always knows when I'm going to have a panic attack, too, so he's sort of my own therapy dog.

Most people think that he's named after a coffee with milk because of his coloring so we just go with it. They don't understand the movie or book reference. It's a sad time in our society that no one reads Stephen King classics. LOL.

Gage was named after the little boy in Pet Semetary. Also by Stephen King. He has a childlike playfulness to him so it's perfect. What can I say? I love Stephen King.

  • I'm doing well with training for my half marathon. I think what's helping is that I paid my registration fee and have a strict schedule to adhere to (no going back now!)
I'm also doing a low-carb diet (RE recommended) so that's also keeping me on my toes. Pinterest has the best recipe ideas!

GTKY: We got my doggie Fred when he was a puppy at the shelter. We decided his shelter name was cute, so it stuck!

  • Back to carb counting for me this week. I'm down 2lbs which I'm pleased with. Now I just have to add back in my treadmill routine. QOTW- I have 1 dog. A beagle mix, her name is Peanut. I got her from a shelter, she was rescued and she was tiny and ver underweight so peanut kind of just fit her. She's missing one eye now from a tumor she had last summer so now I call her pirate peanut lol.

Hey everyone! I am down 2 pounds this week, and I have a 10 day tracking streak on MFP which is good! I was battling a nasty cold so today was the first day I was back in the gym since the New Year, and I got 20 minutes of running in, which I was pretty proud of.  ETA: I forgot the qotw! Our dogs name is Goober, that's what I adopted him with but it was such a perfect name I didn't even think of changing it. Plus he was 5 when we got him so he was pretty used to it at that point.
