Nipple Pain (one side)

My baby is almost 5 months old. About a week ago I started having pain in my right nipple. It's super tender and hurts to the touch. When my daughter first latches on it hurts SO much and for the first few minutes. It usually settles down a little once she gets going. It's only my right nipple and it doesn't look any different than my left. Any thoughts? Also who would I go see? My ob or lactation?

    Do you have a crack or cut on that side? Maybe LO has a shallower latch on that side. I would really make sure to get a good latch and not be lazy. It recently happened to me when DS got his first teeth. Now I have to take my time latching him on that side to keep it from being too shallow and hurting.

    Has AF shown up yet? My nipples get sore when nursing right before AF makes her appearance.
