My 4 month old son has had horrible baby acne since birth. At first I chalked it up to hormones but instead of clearing up it seems to have gotten worse. He is exclusively fed formula as of about a month or so ago. He has tons of blackheads but also gets the red, raised pimples with whiteheads in the center. Our pedi agrees it's unusual and suggested using Clearasil pads on his face but I worry that may be too harsh on his skin. I've tried some Burt's Bees products for a few days with no noticeable improvement thus far. He drinks soy formula (for possible dairy intolerance issues) and I'm wondering if that is causing the problem. I'm just wondering if anyone else has ever dealt with anything like this and if you found anything to clear it up.
Re: Bad baby acne
Have you tried witch hazel? It has natural skin balancing properties. I used it on my LO when he was born and his BA cleared right up. I also made sure wash his face with warm water/wash cloth 2x daily and moisturize with Aveeno baby lotion 2x daily as well.
