Sheldon says it all!! Really though that's just crazy talk. I ain't trying to worry about 3 kids running around while my vagina is hanging out to the world!
No way! I had my then 2.5 year old in the my room when I was laboring at home prior to going to the hospital. I was so busy trying to be calm and relaxed for her, that it was difficult with the contractions to stay focused. I can't imagine being at the hospital with her, I know she would have wanted to be in the birth tub with me!
My at the time 7 year old didn't want to miss her sister being born so I spent a lot of time discussing it with her and preparing her for what labor and delivery would be like and answering all of the questions she had. She was supposed to be there for the birth, unfortunately the way my delivery went down she missed the last part of the delivery. The firemen wisked her away to their firetruck (where she was left alone!) she couldn't see anything. DH brought her over to the ambulance to meet her new baby sister before they took us to the hospital.
After almost 3 years of IF and a crazy roadside delivery, we are loving life with our second beautiful daughter!
Re: Having older siblings in the room during delivery
Is this a hospital delivery? Because I don't think there are many (if any) that would even allow that. If a home birth or birth center no way!
Hell no! Kids don't need to see that.
