I have been toying with my plans for going back to work. Thanks to all our moves I have taken the bar exam three times and am about to do it again, but things never felt quite right being an attorney, and I could never find a job that didn't require less than 50-60 hours a week, which I know is typical, but I want more flexibility and less hours now that I have fallen in love with being at home. That said, this coming fall I will be enrolling in a class at UConn towards my PhD in sociology and then applying for a funded full-time postion in the PhD program starting in fall of 2016. I mentioned on here a while ago that I wanted to look into teaching and an adjunct position just wasn't worth it for me. This would allow me to use my JD to teach criminology courses and other social issues in the law courses, if I were fortunate to get into the program and get hired by a university after. I am super excited and based on women I have spoken with, the timing will be great because I will be in school while my children are little and they will be in childcare right on campus with me and then I will start teaching around the time they are in school! I am even allowed paid maternity leave while in the program and a year off if I choose to have another baby. This is the first time ever that I have been excited about my future career potential!
Sorry that was super long and lame, but I am not sharing with too many people and I am so excited I had to share with someone!
