Baby led weaning?

Ok here's the deal.. Baby bean is still pretty disinterested in solids. I know it's ok because he's only 5 months..so we'll wait. Pedi actually recommend baby led weaning so I'm curious to see how long it will take, and if anybody has had success with it?
