Just an observation about BC

My husband and I have been together for 9 years and I have always been on BCP. At the end of my dec cycle we decided that we are going to TTC starting in Feb. I wanted to stop a month before we try because I wanted to track and temp. Also, I have dental providers tha month that requires x-Rays.

Anyway, these last few weeks have been tortue for us. I never understood those who got pregnant when they weren't prepared or "wasn't thinking about bc"

I am glad we only have to do this for 2 more weeks. Kudos to those women who use birth control they have to think about immediately before sex!

Edited: My point is: I can see how mistakes can happen. In general, there is a lot of judgement from people on boards, so it was my way of saying I need to stop judging.

Everyone just relax. My point was: I can understand those that talk about "mistakes" or "not being prepared."

It was a moment of clarity. In general, there is a lot of judgement here and it was my way of saying I get it, and I'm not going to judge others on boards. My autocorrect/phone got the best of me.

This rubbed me the wrong way. Also, pulling out isn't exactly the "responsible" thing to use as BC. You might end up one of those people you're judging so harshly.

Are you talking about condoms? I'm thinking she means she's having a hard time using a method of BC (like condoms) while they are still trying to prevent. Now she gets how easy mistakes can happen and won't judge?

I apologies. I did not mean that as an insult. I was just trying to imply that I personally don't understand when people have a hard time "remembering" to use contraceptives or "forget" to pull out. I have numerous friends that absolutely did not want a baby but ended up pregnant because they "don't like condoms". Also, if I were not ready to get pregnant, I personally, would not rely on the pull out method. I should not have said it was "responsible" because it isn't. My DH and I are in a few months of NTNP so that, is why we are pulling out when we aren't using a condom. We are okay with getting pregnant if it happens but if we were to conceive this month, we would be moving very close to our due date. Again, I am sorry I did not want to offend anyone. In the future, I will give more time to thinking about exactly how I worded something.

How are you NTNP if you're pulling out/using condoms and preventing pregnancy? You know that the "NP" in NTNP stands for "not preventing," right?

Also, the pull out method is relatively effective if used correctly. HERE is Planned Parenthood's info on it.
