Pregnant after a Loss

Similar stories??

Hey ladies! Hope you are all having a wonderful Saturday. I'm currently 8 weeks along after two consecutive miscarriages this past year. I am on progesterone and baby aspirin as a precautionary measure-meaning all my repeat loss labs my RE tested came back normal. Anyone in my similar situation and going on to have healthy pregnancies so far or have had successful pregnancies? Thanks!

Re: Similar stories??

  • I had some testing done by my RE, but not the full RPL work up after 2 consecutive losses. I had been taking baby aspirin with the ok of my RE (but stopped after my BFP) and was started on progesterone as a precaution.

I'm at 37 weeks without any known issues now. FX for an uneventful 9 months!

  • I had one mmc last year, and started BA once we started TTC again at the advice of my OB. After getting my BFP I started on progesterone supps as well, both were more of a "can't hurt, might help" precautionary thing. My OB said it was standard protocol for all of her loss patients. I am also now 37w with no issues. Good luck to you!

  • I had two consecutive miscarriages the last being a year ago from tomorrow. I had also had one before my daughter was born. I went through months of testing with all coming back "normal". I'm now 31 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby boy and have a 2 1/2 year old daughter. Just because they can't find the reason why things went wrong doesn't mean it's going to happen again. Hope that helps.
  • So far so good after 2 losses (30+2 right now). I was on baby asprin for a little while but have been having pretty random nose bleeds this pregnancy so I stopped taking it. Plus my OB said there is no proven study it actually helps they often just do it as a precaution for clots. I am on iron supplements but other than that nothing eventful to report. FX you stay for an uneventful 9 months :)

  • Another grad chiming in...I had 3 losses before an RE discovered two copies of the MTHFR gene. He didn't seem to think that was reason for my losses but since nothing else aside low AMH (0.27) turned up, he said wouldn't hurt to be proactive. He had me take aspirin until 35 weeks and progesterone until 10 weeks, at which time he had me just stop cold turkey. He referred me to an Hematologist who put me on lovenox and folate. All in all, I felt everyone was of the,"may not help but cant't hurt" camp and no one really felt my losses were due to MTHFR. But I now have a 5 week old after a rather uneventful pregnancy and will absolutely follow the same protocol if we are fortunate to try again.
