Pregnant after a Loss

horrible vivid dream (loss/death trigger warning)

So last nighy I had the weirdest dream. I can't remember all the details something about music and large groups of people but I was pregnant and a good friend of mine was (she's not in RL though). The only real detail. I remember of this dream is she went into labor and her and her baby both died during the birth. Like I said she's not pegnant right now only I am. I'm trying not to read into it but its hard considering with both my losses I had loss dreams and with this pregnancy I had a dream of having a perfectly healthy baby boy. Its just so confusing and I don't know what to make of it if anything at all and just had to tell someone. I sent my friend a message just saying I love you because I felt the need to but don't want to mention the dream. :/

Re: horrible vivid dream (loss/death trigger warning)

  • (( hugs)) Those types of dreams are stressful, but try not to take any meaning out of them. Pregnancy has brought on lots of very vivid dreams for me, too.

  • I'm sorry. those dreams are stressful.  Remember that dreams like that can be a byproduct of anxiety in your subconscious.

  • @luciddreamer106 It was the first bad dream. I know pregnancy comes with some weird dreams. I would've just preferred a unicorn in the dessert or something.

@tlc35 I think it is anxiety. I'm approaching my last milestone next week of when we lost Aaron so although I'm trying not to focus too much on it subconsciously I know it's coming.

  • I'm so sorry, I know how frightening and hard to shake dreams like that can be. But like you said, you're just anxious subconsciously and your dreams are trying to release the stress. Unless you're psychic (ARE you psychic?? :) If so, I have some questions about some lottery numbers...) the dreams are just dreams and don't foretell a thing.
  • I have been struggling a lot with bad dreams this time. After two losses, this pregnancy has been much more anxiety ridden and my dreams have definitely reflected it! Sometimes they bother me for days. My best advice is to remember its just a dream and try to calm down the anxiety! Big hugs!

  • @Mel&John2013 I wish I was psychic! Lotto numbers to a new person every week lol I could use that money right about now.

@mommy0411 We need a pregnancy drug that suppresses bad dreams, being PgAL is hard enough without the added anxiety.

*hugs* to all you ladies. Thanks :)

  • ((Hugs))

I had a dream the other night that one of my cats accidentally jumped into a pond and drowned. I had jumped in to try and save him but my belly was too big and I couldn't swim down to get him. I could just see him lying there. It was awful. I don't like this pregnancy symptom at all :(

  • ((Hugs)) It's crazy pregnancy dreams coupled with anxiety, I think. I dreamed last night that my friend's husband died.

  • I'm sorry this dream rattled you. Dreams are just that and part of our subconscious. I do a good job during the day pushing negative thoughts out so many times they creep into my dreams. It doesn't help the PGAL brain at all. Sending many hugs your way.
  • I agree with PP that it's probably anxiety. That doesn't make it any easier though. Hugs!
  • *hugs* thanks ladies I'm trying to just forget about it. I did end up telling my friend because she asked if I was okay and she just told me not to worry about her cause she's fine and not to stress.
