Sister's destination wedding UPDATE

Hey kids,

to update to my post this morning regarding my sister's destination wedding:

I talked it over with my parents and while they appreciated the thought, my dad doesn't want to leave my mom for a week while she's having treatment.  If he goes without her, she'll be completely alone (her two best friend couples are going to the wedding, her sister is away, I'll be gone, etc).  I can respect that, they've been married for 50 years, I'd want my H with me, too.

All of you and I thought it was a great idea and so did they, but I never even thought of my mom being on her own and getting chemo and stuff.

    So what do you think you'll do? I'd still probably go without DH and DS. Haha.

    I'm worth Kleigh. I'd go. My brother didn't come to my wedding, for completely understandable reasons, but it still makes me sad — especially since we made the effort to go to his wedding. While your sister will totally understand if you can't go to a destination wedding (at least she better!!) I'm sure she would love to have you there!

    I'm definitely going, and DS and DH will come, too.  Both of my parents will stay home.  I feel badly for my sister, that neither parent can come, but she chose a destination that is VERY far from us, when she could have had a wedding here in Vancouver, or in Toronto where she lives, you know?

    My bil and sil got married in Hawaii and no one from his family made it. Dh and I had broken up before they got engaged, but no one from my bil's family could get there. They knew that was a possibility, like you said, they could have chosen someplace closer. :)
