TTC After a Loss

Intro/ joining all you fine ladies

Hello everyone! I'm joining you all from over on the MC/Loss board. We experienced our first loss last weekend at 5 wks along. It was a rough week but everyone here has been extremely supportive and I'm feeling better every day. Did I mention that my DH is pretty much the best man on the planet? He bought a big tub of coffee ice cream and gave me a nice long shoulder rub when we got back from the ER, not to mention snuggling me as I cried my eyes out. We hadn't told anyone about our pregnancy yet and my sister is the only person I told about the m/c.  My doctor told us we could start TTC again whenever we felt ready so we are just going to see what happens. I don't chart or temp (yet) so I have no idea when I will ovulate again, but my DH doesn't seem to mind the idea of a lot of random BDing for the next few months. I have been lurking on this board all week and some of your gifs had me cracking up, you all cheered me up a ton. Looking forward to hanging out with you all!
And just because you all deserve some cuteness, here is a picture of my fur baby, Bowser.

  • I'm sorry for your loss and welcome.  Its awesome that you DH is being so supportive.  If you are not going to wait until your first period post MC, then I would recommend temping to confirm ovulation.  Getting a BFP without a LMP to go by can make dates uncertain and cause more stress without an ovulation date to go by.  This board is full of women who can help you get started when you are ready.

  • I'm sorry for your loss but welcome here *hug*

It's a rough time and it's so nice to hear YH is supportive. You may not be ready to start temping yet but when you are check out fertility friend. When you first sign up you get lessons sent to your email and I learned so much from it. Good luck!

Also, Bowser is adorable, can't wait to see more of him!
I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

  • I am so sorry for your loss. Welcome to the board. I agree with PP on using Fertility Friend. It's a great app and a great resource when you are ready to chart!

  • I agree with the ladies about temping. It's the only thing I feel I have control over. My MC and D&E WAS 12/22, so in fertility friend, I list my CD1 as 12/22 (even though technicall that is not my period). So I'm CD21 now, temping really to see if I ovulate before my next period. That information is great to have. Also, temping helps you to know your body so much more, and your cycles. Short LP, AO cycle, how long your fertile window is, etc. Big (hugs) to you for this difficult time, but these women here, they are the bomb.com and I couldn't have gotten through my loss without them!
