What do all the first time mommers do on the weekends now? I always feel like I'm being so boring but it's so cold out and I just want to watch movies on the couch! My husband would never say it but I think he thinks I'm being a bum! What do you do?
Lately I've been traveling during the week so I'm too exhausted to do anything on Saturdays and stay in my pjs, today included. I'm sitting at the airport waiting in the car to pick up DH, and I just added ugg boots and a scarf to my pjs! SO lazy.
Sundays I try to go to the grocery store and clean up the house. I need to get more energy soon to start registering and getting the house ready for the baby!
Clean, do laundry, read and watch football. I will take the dogs for a walk. We have been organizing and cleaning out the garage.
I don't know what we are going to do once football is over! We are going to need some more Netflix shows to watch.
This is what we do every single weekend. Occasionally, we mix in some projects for the nursery, or work on the registry, but cleaning and football is pretty much it. We did go out for breakfast this morning, which was exciting!
Last night I went out to a wine bar with some girlfriends and enjoyed a glass of wine (while they enjoyed a few!).. Tonight DH and I went out to eat and now I'm snuggled in bed watching Friends... Nothing has really changed for me, now that the first trimester sick is done.
I clean house, run errands, read, catch up on the DVR with DH, and yoga. If it's nice we go for a walk. I don't know if it's fun and exciting but it works for us!
I usually go to the gym both days, catch up on the DVR, attempt to clean for a while, nothing major.
Sometimes we also go to Disneyland. We have passes and usually try to leave by 3:00pm to come home, and even with just a partial day we usually walk about 14 miles! It feels so much better to walk outside when the weather cooperates instead of on the treadmill at the gym.
I work two jobs so i usually work all weekend but when I get home we relax and watch movies or football. We're very laid back. We never have gone to bars that much anyways so our routine has stayed the same. We're pretty lame lol but We love it
I told MH to go out with his friends, I wanted to relax and start reading my next book... What actually happened: I fell asleep in my chair for an hour after reading 5 pages and decided to just go to bed... Where I am now, wide awake of course.
I feel incredibly boring...I try to get the laundry done, go to the gym, do a larger market trip, and hopefully clean house some. We've done a bit with the nursery but I think that will get going more once we find out the sex (Feb. 2). My husband owns a pub/restaurant so he is there a lot and it used to be my usual weekend stop in, at least after work on Fridays. But while I enjoy the food, it's lost it's appeal to hang out and watch people drink. Also, I'm not showing yet so I get lots of questions about not drinking, when I'm actually due, etc. My husband is spending much more time at home but I feel like I'm boring him a bit as we had a very social life prior to becoming pregnant and now I'm just tired and prefer to lounge around. I'm still waiting for some second trimester energy- hopefully that will help.
We sleep, clean, shop, catch up on TV shows, watch movies, and maybe go out to eat one day. Nothing different than before getting pregnant. We work hard all week and honestly that's all we ever want to do on weekends.
I pretty much do what I was doing pre-pregnancy, but there's less beer involved. :P
This weekend, DH and I went out to our favorite bar on Friday evening with some friends. On Saturday, went for a bike ride, had a quiet afternoon (I read a book!) and then went out to dinner with our neighbors.
DH left early this morning for a work trip, so I'll be doing the grocery shopping today, going for a run this afternoon, doing some cleaning, and getting ready for the work week!
We do the same things we did pre-pregnancy. Yesterday, I cleaned, walked the dog, we had an appointment with our dog trainer, and then did some shopping. We went kayaking in the afternoon and then went out to dinner at a sports bar. And now, I'm laying on the couch in my robe and plan to relax today, do some laundry, and catch up on my Netflix shows.
I am the laziest sloth on earth. It is so cold and I just can't even deal with it. While all the other pregnant women are having hot flashes I have been freezing since being pregnant. So I curl up on the couch under a blanket with my cat and read or watch TV. I stay in my pajamas for as long as possible. I am still on no exercise orders, so I'm loving the excuse to be lazy.

I'm sleeping in a couple hours extra on the weekends. We're trying to work in those little things that will be harder to do when LO arrives. Eating out , going for lazy Sunday drives, cinemas etc. Chores have slackened slightly but we're okay with that
I do the same thing I did before I got pregnant, head to the gym, make plans with friends, go out with DH, clean the house, and watch movies in Sunday's. The only change has been some baby related projects, getting the nursery ready, and there's a lot less booze involved!
I do find I am more productive after going out with friends because I don't have a hangover anymore! Makes getting up in the morning a lot easier.
I'm not a first time mother but am doing exactly what you are. Yesterday I napped twice. Got up with DD and made her breakfast and put on a movie and then fell asleep on the sofa until DH got up and then took a nap while DD napped.
I think my DH thinks its funny. He gets mad if I am napping and nothing is getting done around the house but as long as I do a bit of work hes fine with it. Plus I've been letting him sleep in all the time so he can't complain.
Typical weekend nights consist of eating out and watching a movie on Popcorn time.
We actually did a lot this weekend though, but only after I slept 12+ hours on Friday night! I'd had a headache all day and after having some hot & sour soup, I was knocked out on the couch around 7:00!
It gave me some energy for the rest of the weekend. On Saturday we cleaned out my 'closet room' to turn it into baby's room. I got rid of a ton of my clothes and we shifted our clothes to different closets to make space and we put together the baby's crib. Then we went out to lunch with my Dad and went to a friend's house that night for a big dinner party. We left before 10 when the party was really starting to get going; I had a great time, but by then I was tired and didn't want to stick around as people started getting more drunk.
Yesterday was pretty typical though. We went to church, Costco, cleaned the house, and then had a friend over for dinner.
Same thing I always did. Grocery shop, laundry, park my ass on the couch and catch up on DVR'd stuff. Now I throw in a nap each weekend afternoon. That's about the only deviation to the norm.
Same as most of you: some cleaning (DH usually has a day off in the week, so we divide and conquer), walk the dog, usually see a friend or two, sleep a lot, read, and watch Netflix.
I agree with PP's that not much has changed. There are few plans, if any, we turn down because I'm pregnant. We go out to eat, usually do the gym both days, and hang out on our amazing new couch we just bought.
