first pregnancy questions

I'm 36 weeks 5 days, last Thursday I was told I'm 2 cm dialated. Since then I've been experiencing loss of blood clots, and as of yesterday and into the early morning today I have noticed a mucus almost snot like discharge... Is that my mucus plug shedding? Also I've been having random contractions... Does this mean my baby will be here sooner?

    QFP. And since you already got some answers when you asked over in F15, I'll just say to ask your doctor.
