My MIL goes back today!!!!!! YEA!!!!!!!!

After 3 1/2 months my MIL is finally heading home to Portugal!  I'm soooooo excited to have my house, family, and life back to just the 3 (+ doggie) of us!  Can't wait to clean the house this weekend and get everything back in MY order.

One final story...

MIL cooked last night.  Thin steaks seeped in olive oil (she's gone through 5+ Sam's sized bottles of olive oil since she has been here), red wine and garlic, and she also made fried potatoes (no veggies for her...ever, I usually make some up quick but didn't feel like it last night) .  She had a pot of oil heating on the stove for the potatoes (because she can't use the fry daddy it's too much of a modern appliance for her...sigh).  She peels, cuts up and washes the potatoes and immediately dumps the sopping wet potatoes into the hot oil.   EXPLOSION!!!  OIL EVERYWHERE!!!!  All over the counter and the kitchen floor (which is now an ice skating rink...I'll take care of it tomorrow).  The poor puppy got spattered a little bit before she ran into the bedroom.  Smoke filled the house, alarm going off, LO screaming!  I just took LO into the nursery and let my husband freak out; I just kept thinking, "it's the last night, not even worth my energy to worry about it anymore!"

HAPPY DAY!  And thank you all for your words of support over these difficult months!
