So this is a silly question. We're having pictures taken at a dog park tomorrow with our dog. It is going to be really cold and there is a little bit of snow on the ground, maybe an inch. I really want to wear my brown leather boots because they look pretty - but am I going to mess them up if there is a little snow on the ground? Have you used a waterproofing spray on your boots? If so, what would you recommend?
I feel like I should know the answer to this, but I really don't. Thanks for your help!
Re: NTTCALR: question about leather boots
Leather is pretty durable. I think Suede is less forgiving as far as weather goes. There are lots of waterproofing stuff out there. My husband and I both have cowboy boots that we waterproof with a leather conditioner that I use for my saddles. You can treat them, but it often darkens the leather. I prefer a paste formula over a spray. Something that will condition and waterproof.
Honestly, I doubt you will have any huge issues. If you let them dry out and don't get salt on them they should go right back to normal without the waterproofing. Oiling them can help too. But will also darken the leather. If you have a local tack shop or farm and garden they would probably have something that would work. The stuff I use I bought special at a tack show, and it isn't usually available at stores.
Good luck!!

Have fun with the pics! I know you may not be happy about the snow but snow pics can come out so awesome
