Baby and hives

Itty bit turned 5 months on the first and I've been noticing every now and then she gets a random hive usually on her head orneck. Now her dad gets random hives every now and then so she may have gotten it from him, but I'm wondering if i should call the pedi and try to get an allergy test (which are usually not accurate until the child is 5). It's not a lot of hives just one or two every so often for seemingly no reason at all(it's not like i gave her a new solid or anything).

I feel that this would be worth a call to pedi, especially if a severe allergy/family history may be a concern. I have noticed our LO gets a hive like rash around chin/neck from wet hands/bib/shirt. I try to keep him as dry as possible, but the drooling/chewing is endless at this point. Other things I would check aside from keeping a look out for a food allergy, would be any lotions, detergents, or different fabrics LO may be coming into contact with that might cause the reaction.

  • I was kind of thinking it may be worth calling the pedi. DH and i both have severe allergies - mine to a medicine and DH with shellfish. DH also has some non severe rodent allergies.

The reason I was wavering is because the hive only appears for a few mins then disappears, she also doesn't get a rash or a ton of them, just one singular hive. There hasn't been any changes in anything but I'll keep an eye and see if there is a link.
