Ok well I'm done defending myself. I came to you ladies because I was freaking out and I appreciated all the support and helpful advice at the time. Now it's just gotten ridiculous and I don't need to listen to this bullshit. I've been a member of this community since I found out I was pregnant, and don't feel I deserve to be treated this way.
The windchill around here has been hovering around -20 and the advisory says that frostbite can occur within 25-30 min to exposed skin. I'm thinking that after falling through ice and walking that far home in soaking wet clothes there would definitely be a huge risk of hypothermia.
The other thing I wanted to mention is it can be dangerous (for cardiac reasons) to warm up too quickly after hypothermia so it's surprising to me your doctor wouldn't want you to get evaluated for that reason, even if they weren't concerned about the baby. It just seems like a huge liability for them to not advise you to be seen after calling in with something like that.

You have got to be shitting me!! Your explanation makes it sound even more of a lie and your pictures don't help! That pond might not be deep and your clothes don't even look wet. I'm going with this was a foot broke through sort of thing and you need some attention for some sick reason. I seriously don't get it.

Things that people have expressed concern about in the past I've asked the doctor about, and unless you are bleeding, having contractions, or aren't feeling the baby move anymore, they don't seem to order any tests. She said that I took the right steps to warm myself up slowly, and since the baby was still moving then she didn't think it was necessary to come in. She said to come in if anything changed in my health but that the baby is well insulated in there and would be fine.

@cmcintos, IF all of this really did happen to you, you might want to take a life lesson out of it. When life gives you a free pass where nobody was witness to you being incredibly, incincievably, deeply dumb (we've all done it).... Take it as the gift it is and don't tell anyone about it. Really, the BEST this thread could have gone is that we all tell you that you were dumb. You are probably already keenly aware of that.
I would also like to point out to the rest of the forum that this is proof that regs aren't 'bulletproof'. Posting a lot doesn't shield you from getting called out for really dumb posting, exaggerations, etc.
My own personal opinion here is that the OP and a few posts after contained exaggerations. She probably did fall into shallow water, splashed her belly, and ran home in a tizzy.
I need to make a PSA in this post. After reviewing OP's post history to look for other crazy, I noticed she repeatedly uses ect. instead of etc. (like 10 times...) I see this A LOT on TB and it drives me nuts!! People, it is ETC. It stands for et cetera.

But I won't even stand on a chair to reach something, never mind walk on ice that I assume is frozen... I just can't wrap my head around this entire post...
That's it, you caught me..... I just had a pregnancy craving for internet strangers attention, so I concocted an elaborate story for fun. Didn't really expect to have to rub my clothes in a field of bullrushes and then dip them in the bathtub for effect, or throw fresh dog shit on my floor.... but hey, anything for attention right?!?!
Also, I didn't really get a puppy. I just googled cute puppy images. And my husband didn't really buy me a low-back chair instead of a glider. Hell, I don't even have a husband. I'm really a man.
I was just out walking my dog before work in the field near my house. There's a small pond, and we were walking on the ice (as the temps for the past two days have been like -20 so I figured it was pretty solid). I heard a crack, so I quickly headed back to the shore (I wasn't far out), when the ice broke and I fell through. The water was about chest-deep, and I couldn't get out as the ice kept breaking around me when I tried to climb out. With all my winter clothes, they were pretty heavy as well so it wasn't easy to pull myself out. Eventually I did, and luckily I wasn't too far from home. My pants/boots were frozen to my body when I got in the door. hope the baby is ok, as she was certainly submerged.

I wanted to thank everyone who sent their support and kind wishes to me, both here and via private message. Despite a few bullies who let things get out of hand, most people were very understanding and supportive, so thank you for helping me through a really scary experience. So after going over the incident over and over in my head all day/night yesterday, as well as re-visiting the scene this morning, I wanted to update some of the details, as I realize that I may have exaggerated on some things. It all happened really fast, so things seem a lot worse/longer then they actually probably were in real life.
So, here's the scene........ it's a large man-made drainage ditch. There's a path that runs along the top that cuts into the woods, so this is our normal route for morning walks.
I had the dog off the leash to play frisbee.....I try and get him to run around as much as possible in the morning before work to tucker him out so that he sleeps when I'm gone...... if he's too hyper he just works himself into a tizzy.

Between where I'm standing on the path and the pond, there's this small hill that goes down with some scruff......
We walked along the shore by the bullrushes briefly (part of the paved path actually leads right up to the shore of the water, so I walk down there so that the puppy can explore). The dog had never seen ice before..... and it was fun to watch him discover it for the first time. We'd been there before the pond had frozen, and it wasn't deep at the edge, because he'd wandered in along the side when it was still water. Labs are suppose to be water-loving animals so I wanted to familiarize him with water as soon as I could, in hopes that he'll swim this summer. I could see the bottom and it was frozen right through. It also wasn't sleek slippery ice, as it's been windy, so it was more bumpy... easy to get traction with winter boots. It wasn't until I was heading back to the path through this area between the pond and the path that I fell in. Between the bullrushes and the scruff. I couldn't tell exactly where the ice broke because we got a bit of snow last night, but I'm assuming by the broken scruff that it was about here, in the spot without plants. So certainly looked like "land" to me. Especially considering man-made ponds usually have pretty defined boundaries.
Judging by the water line on my sweater, the water came above my belly button but below my boobs. I had guessed yesterday that I was in the water for 1-2 mins, but it was probably more realistically like 30 seconds by the time I'd realized what happened, tried to get out, and finally managed to crawl/roll my way back to the path.
I timed my walk back to my house today. I said it was between 5-10 mins walk while wet. It took me 4 mins today, so it was probably about 5 mins total yesterday, after having to re-leash the dog and fiddle with our garage door code with freezing cold hands, plus the added weight of wet winter clothes and boots.
Yes, I did grab the bag of dog shit on my walk back without even thinking about it. I'd left it at the start of the path to grab on the way back so that I'd have my hands free to play frisbee.... and didn't notice it had sat on my floor in a heap of wet mess until my husband came home later that night and helped me clean up. Crazy the things you do when you're in panic mode.
Anyways, everything seems ok today. Baby still moving like normal..... I took it easy yesterday, and the doctor assured me that things were fine. I warmed up slowly, got home quickly, and didn't show any signs of bodily distress.... like turning blue, convulsing uncontrollably, bleeding, cramping..... etc.
Again, thank you to everyone who showed concern/support. I really appreciate your efforts and kind words. I've spent a lot of time/energy on this forum since I found out I was pregnant, and although I'm appalled that some women find it appropriate (and actually seem to get a kick out of) putting others down/making jokes at other people's expense (not just towards me but to anyone who's ever said the wrong thing or asked the wrong question), it's nice to see that it's only a select few people behave this way.
Ok, well. Thanks for the pics and stuff. I still don't see where you "fell in" and now I'm wondering even more WTF you were doing walking over all that mess of grass and weeds and bumps to go stand on some ice.
Ya except that when I open completely unrelated threads I still see references to the girl who lied about falling through ice, or people who's new hobby is breakdancing on ice. So if people want to continue badgering me about it, then I am going to continue to defend myself and my actions.
