Baby it's cold outside!

LO is snuggling on my chest in her snowsuit sleeping. This week four years ago I lost my first baby. How blessed am I!

What's the coldest temp you will bring your LO out in? My mother thought I was abusing LO today by taking her out in 3 degrees. We went to the library in the car.

I took the boys to the store today in 16 degree weather. I feel like the cold thing is an issue with infants (especially preemies). But, with toddlers, I figure they are on the same level as any older child and can handle the cold with proper gear.

I'm enjoying my weather blessing right now. It was 75 yesterday and 72 today and Tuesday. Summers we pay the piper with 110+ I think toddlers need to be taken our of the house daily to avoid cabin fever. As long as they are dressed appropriately, it is fine. We take J out first thing in the morning and after sunset in the summer.

I don't think it got above 3 today.... brrrrr I need to go grocery shopping, but that wasn't happening today! I need to get gas first if I go anywhere and I just didn't want to deal with the cold! A would have been just fine! She's a hotbox like her dad and if she is cold, she tells us.

The cold doesn't concern me too much with a toddler. The bigger issue that I wouldn't deal with right now is the wind chill. For the last two and half days our wind chill has been -15 to -30. That's just too nasty for anyone to be out in! Days like this when I have had to be out, I make sure I have hats, gloves, boots, and blankets in the car just in case.

I'm going to venture to the store tomorrow with A. It'll be a balmy 18 with snow all morning

We did 8 degrees this morning because we had to get from the car to daycare. Last year we had a cold snap right after DS grew out of his infant carrier and that drove me nuts. When he was in that thing, we had the "shower cap" cover for it, plus a blanket in there so the single digits seemed manageable - he sometimes was even over heated in that thing. So different when I have to lug him in and out of the real carseat - especially since I can't put him in his heavy coat in that thing! But it's a problem I'm thankful to have - I'd rather deal with this than the way I was feeling a few years ago pre kid!

I don't worry about the temp. She was born premature in Feb 2013. I had to take her out for very frequent doctor's appointments when it was freezing out. I guess that got me used to it. I just make sure to heat up the car before we go out and I run her to the car. Once she's in, I buckle her up and throw a couple blankets on her. I climb in the backseat to put her coat on her before I take her out of the car.

So sweet @luvboston‌ It's such a great feeling holding our miracles. It doesn't get anywhere near that low here, but I imagine if they are bundled up that they should be fine.

I go out in most anything aside from a full on blizzard. Had to go out the other day with -5 temp with a -30 windchill. The baby is good in her bucket seat, she stays so warm with the cover on it. And as for the toddler I just make sure he's got mittens and hat and such. We only have to run in and out of buildings for the most part, and he does just fine. Not that I love going out in that weather, but we had a Dr appointment for little sister the other day when it was that cold.

I walk my DS to his daycare, so we were out yesterday in -2 F. DS was so layered he could barely move.
