  • My pilot's girlfriends name is Roselyn.  He pronounces it Roz- lyn and calls her Roz for short.

I went to school with a girl named Roselyn and pronounced it Roz-lyn.

  • Is this a name you are considering?  Which way do you want it pronounced if so?

Thank you for all the replies!

We actually want it pronounced Rose Lynn. I wonder if a different spelling (maybe Roselynn) would encourage that?

I want to nickname her Rosie :)
  • I'd only pronouce is "Rose Lynn" if there was a hypen or space. I'd assume Roselynn was a "youneek" spelling of "Roz-uh-lyn" or "Roz-ah-lyn".

I think Rose Lynn is pretty though :)

Why not just name her Rose Lynn then? Not trying to be snide at all btw. Rose Lynn is pretty. You could still call her Rosie. I just agree with PP that even with a spelling of Roselynn I would  still think it was pronounced roz-uh-lynn.

This is kiddo #4 and all of our kids have the "n" sound at the end of their name. Lillian, Nolan, Adrienne... So just trying to keep with that! :)
  • There is also the ross-lynn or ross-uh-lynn options...I would say the former.
