1. No official due date yet, that will be determined at my next appt. I measured 5wks 1 day on Tuesday so that puts me at 5wks 4 days today. Still an appleseed. It's funny because I felt like I ovulated mid cycle but then a couple days later I felt like I ovulated again. I guess the second try was a winner and I ovulated late.

2. I will be 42.

3. I yr old daughter, dog, fish.

4. I'm feeling tired. No major symptoms yet. I really missed drinking coffee this morning, especially since it's so cold. I thought about sneaking in one cup but my PGAL brain won't let me. I keep having this horrible feeling that I'm going to lose this one.

5. My next ultrasound will be Jan 20 where we will hear the heartbeat for the first time. Somehow thinking about that has turned a lot of my fears into excitement. I'm trying to focus on that instead of being nervous. My rant is that I'm tired of my husband being so messy and not cleaning up after himself. I shouldn't have to start my day cleaning up a huge mess in the kitchen before I can even make breakfast for my daughter. I'm extra annoyed right now.

QOTW. Honestly, we've had a very rocky marriage. It's really only been in the past year that things have started getting better. I think we have both been stubborn enough that we wanted to make it work. My husband has had (still has) a lot of growing up to do. I think becoming a father has helped. I think adding a second child is going to help even more, even though we didn't plan for this.

RE said EDD is 8/15, but OB wants to go by LMP which is 8/11. Not much difference so I'm OK with that. 9 weeks (green olive)

4. How are you feeling? Meh, I've been better. Still exhausted with intermittent nausea and occasional puking.

5. Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves? I had my first OB appt wednesday and we were able to hear the heartbeat on doppler which was awesome. I also scheduled my NT scan for Jan 29th.

We both are a funny cross between nerdy and sporty, oh and we have a shared love of travel.

4. How are you feeling?
Not bad for once. Last episode of vomiting was 6 days ago, but it was a stomach bug. DH was puking too. I'm starting to get big enough that I'm having trouble with normal things, like putting on my shoes, or picking up whatever DS threw on the floor.
5. Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?
My 28-week appointment and glucose test are next week. Joy. I'm also reaching a breaking point with the extra family we have living with us right now. They're going through a lot, and I don't fault them for it. We want to help them. But I'm quickly approaching due date, and they do NOTHING to help around the house. A piece of trash sat on the floor for days which I couldn't pick up, and they just kept walking past it like it wasn't there. They won't do anything without being asked, then they half-a$$ it. We need to start rearranging sleeping arrangments and getting a room ready for baby, and I can't even get them to help me take down Christmas decorations yet. I really can't take it anymore and every hour of every day I have to stop myself from exploding at them.

hikerlady ... sorry to hear about your troubles with your mom. That must be tough.

Guennie ... I hear ya about the coffee!!! I switched to decaf and use just a little cream. It is so not the same, lol! I also miss my diet soda, but I am staying away from the stuff.

Okay. Started having some twinges of pain this morning. Nothing big, just a brief "ooh" and then gone. Happened about three or four times in the past five hours. No cramps or spotting, so I am hoping this is just part of the game since I don't have any previous pregnancies to compare to.

5. Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?

Appointment on January 19. My fiance' is coming for the first time.

QOTW: What makes your relationship with your SO tick? (If you are single, substitute your closest relationship). Communication. We really talk about things, even when we get mad. I really think this has kept our relationship so strong. Plus, we have a lot of common interests which helps.

Large, tired, and lots of pelvic pain. But also anxious and excited to meet this little person

38 week on Monday - will be my first cervix check. Will have a better idea at least of where we are.

We just get each other, support each other and know each other's moods and how to communicate.... even when we argue / disagree, we know where the other person is coming from and though we are both extremely stubborn, we manage find a common ground.

Due Aug 13. 9 Weeks. Baby is olive sized.

3. Any other children? 1 ten year old daughter, three cats that I am ready to throw out the door due to their catbox stench

4. How are you feeling? Still nausea but Dicyclis (spelling probably wrong) seems to help a little. I'm tired and grumpy.

5. Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?

Ultrasound next Thurs - not sure why since I've already had 3. I want to rant about my daughters never ending fever, nausea and cough. I truly cannot take it anymore. My DH gets to sneak to work but I work from home so I have to care for her, and try to work while feeling crappy.

@hikerlady How exciting, you are so close! Sorry to hear about you mom. I can relate. No matter how much we know what to expect, they somehow have a way of getting under our skin every time...

May 15, 22 weeks tomorrow! Whatever comes after pomegranate.

4. How are you feeling? Pretty great these days, now that I've given in to Colace.

5. Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves? I finally "came out" at work and everyone has been really supportive. (I work in a less than relaxing environment and was prepared for the worst...)

This is going to be a cliche answer, but we have the same values, a shared sense of humor, and similar life experiences. We're also both nerds, which contributes to our having similar identities with respect to the rest of the world. And our differences are complementary: I'm a thrifty extrovert and he's a spendy introvert so we tend to meet in the middle when it comes to how we spend our free time.

2nd Tri has been waaay better, but I still get easily winded which has been disappointing - was hoping my workouts would get easier. Feeling some mild RLP.

5. Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?

Next up is the a/s in almost two weeks. Due to recent travel, DH's work schedule and m/w availability, I'll be 21 weeks by then.

The wait is going to be torture!

Today was my first day back at work after 3 weeks off. Gotta say, it was nice to have a little distraction from pregnancy talk and planning. During the two weeks we spent in Patagonia, we hiked about 70 miles - all that fresh air, good sleep and long (slow) walks were really good for me.

Belly has popped, and I'm happy to finally look pregnant instead of just chubby.

We both love travel and outdoor adventure. But at our core, (and what will keep us close as our hobbies & interests evolve), is our shared faith and values.

Prayers for those ladies having a hard time with marriage right now... I can't imagine dealing with that on top of PG.

19 wks 2 days. Mango?

2 kids. 6 yrs and 2 yrs. 1 dog.. 10 yrs.

Feeling better actually. I posted about constipation last time.. that's finally improving. Thank GOD. Nausea is pretty minimal now which is fantastic. Still pretty exhausted most of the time but I also have two littles at home and working full time and some major insomnia going on! Starting to feel like I can finally eat healthier things that don't make me sick! It's nice.

Next appt. is Wednesday for injection and OB. Big anatomy scan is Friday next week!! I cannot wait to find out what we've having!

Hmm. what makes our relationship tick. lol Sometimes I feel like we're so busy with kids and work .. we forget what makes it tick! We have to really make a point to remember eachother. We are both homebodies. Our favorite thing is to have days where we have nothing to do but spend time with our kids and eachother. My husband FINALLY has a job where he's home on weekends so it allows us to do that a lot more. We love just being able to hang out at home and play and laugh and watch a movie and eat meals together. During the week we don't get that so much because he's not usually home until after dinner time.

4. How are you feeling? Tired mostly and I haven't really been hungry. Hubs is making sure I eat a little something every couple of hours to keep my blood sugar up but I could really care less about food right now.

5. Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves? We have our viability u/s coming up on Wednesday. Really praying that everything looks good.

The nausea is gone for now. I'm glad, because I've started to panic about everything I want to get done before LO arrives. My latest blood work shows that I'm slightly anemic. OB isn't concerned and just wants me to eat more iron-rich foods.

5. Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?
We finally got to do our hospital tour after months of calling. For a FTM, it was extremely informative and I'm glad I didn't blow it off. I also realized that it's probably best for me to have a written birth plan. While the hospital is pretty flexible, they want to make sure the patient and their doctor are on the same page.

I also called a couple of pediatricians. We're leaning towards a concierge doctor. For those curious, it starts at $200 a month inclusive of visits/calls/emails but not including labs and vaccines.

We see each other as collaborators in our life goals. We also have deep conversations on a daily basis (maybe to a fault), even after knowing each other for a decade. And while he can be a jerk 10% of the time, and I can be critical a lot more than that, we are generally kind and generous towards each other. We still have pretty fiery arguments especially in stressful situations, but they help us resolve our issues rather than let them fester.

70 miles while pregnant @mindaa! I think I need a nap just thinking about that.

@NeonNoon Thanks for the info about the concierge doctor - I never thought about that but it sounds like it might be well worth it!

And thank you for remembering about my phd - that is very thoughtful. I'm handing it in on Thursday, so spending this weekend on final revisions and edits. Can't wait to have some free time before the little one arrives.

Better. I've managed to go a couple days this week without having to take zofran. That's a win in my book. Lol.

Next appt is on my 43rd bday on 1/26. I'll be 24 w + 1d then.

A rave - my kids are all over the moon about our little surprise. Who, against all odds, is still with us!!

A wee bit of a rant - I have a co-worker who has made it her job to tell EVERYONE I work with that I'm pg. Then she goes on and on at length about it. Quite annoying. We aren't even close. At all. Not to mention that she makes googly eyes at my dh every chance she gets.

We constantly work on our communication. We are very busy. Both of us work full time and our family keeps us busy. So we try to make sure we have quality time together.

Today is not a good day. Physically I'm ok, but mentally I'm a mess. I feel so overwhelmed with everything, like my life is spinning out of control. I am hoping it's just hormones and that tomorrow I will feel better.

Had our anatomy scan this week - everything looks good. Apparently I have an anterior placenta, which is why I still haven't felt any movement - learning that was definitely a relief.

Not really sure... he is extremely patient with me, which is amazing, since he's really not patient with anybody else. I think our personalities balance each other well, too. He tries to make me relax and have fun, and I try to make him pay attention and be responsible. Sometimes it creates arguments, but overall, I think we're good for each other in that way.

1 - 9 weeks or so, due late August/early September range

2 - 37

3 - twin daughters who I adopted from China as a single mom, four dogs, three cats and three rabbits.

4 - Tired, but can't sleep. Little nausea, but very much a low blood sugar for me, but home tests are never high. I just keep fruit, granola bar, some straight sugar candy and ginger ale with me. Candy gives me the initial kick up, so I can eat the fruit and granola, ginger ale because it helps even if it's only in my head.

5 - House hunting, does that count? Otherwise, labs on Monday, see doctor Tuesday for possible referral to a high risk specialist on age, and go from there. Hopefully no switch since I'm otherwise healthy and will refuse invasive testing. Minor reason of not loving needles, mostly because I won't terminate so why bother.

I've had to cancel my first OB appt twice because of being sick. My first appt is now January 20th.

@ewenner The hormones definitely have a lot to do with the moods. Sometimes I go to bed regretting everything and then wake up the next morning in a perfectly peaceful, happy mood, wondering what the previous evening was all about. Hope you're feeling better today!

3. I have a toddler and a puppy. They love each other but it's mayhem.

4. I have an awful head cold and I don't want to take anything. It sucks. It's right on the heels of a stomach virus and I feel sorry for myself.

5. I have an appt with perinatology first thing tomorrow for a fetal heart arrhythmia detected in my prenatal appt on Friday. I'm worried. It could be benign, it could be a condition that resolves during childhood, it could be a life-long condition, or the worst - I lose my baby. I'm worried but hoping for the best. I'm stopping my mind from going down any negative path until I know more.

QOTW: I hate my husband a lot of the time when I'm pregnant so I just have to hang in there and try not to cause a lot of damage. But I can be pretty snippy. When I'm not pregnant, we see eye-to-eye on most things and have fun together. And, we don't sweat the small stuff but rather remember the importance of the big stuff and express a lot of appreciation for each other.

Fun times. I plan to go to bed early tonight so I can have enough energy to be productive at work tomorrow.

Yes and no. Probably was, but I don't know how challenging it would have been if I was married. I did international adoption as state said no single parents, China was relatively easy to work with once I met their requirements. Both girls have SN, but I didn't go near the well known fundraiser site, which kept me with groups who are wanting better for the children and were open to working with me.

For me, I hit 30, was single as it got, in a very good, stable job, and I wanted to be a mom. Adoption was the option I liked. International became slightly easier, large part was having friends who had adopted from the agency. Originally planned to say one, had a crazy dream of two girls and figured I'd say one or two, SN were fine as I have an outstanding children's hospital near, great insurance and what's SN there isn't the same social stigma here. Blah blah blah, legal this, jump through that hoop... Agency says twin girls, I said absolutely, and the girls just turned five.

Been getting back into eating more fruits and veggies since the holiday are over and I am trying to recover from all that rich eating. Grapefruit and orange juice have been the hits of the week. Someone said that indicates the baby is a girl???

5. Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?

Hubby and I were legally married but the public ceremony is next month. Wonder if I will be able to fit my dress. Been researching the use of spanks during pregnancy and it seems ok.

4. How are you feeling? Great! Super tired the whole first tri but had no morning sickness or anything else. I was super sensitive to certain smells though.

5. Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves? Next appt is not till 16 wks but all screening results will be done by 14 wks. Rant? Lacrosse season started and DH is a coach so he will be gone OOT quite a lot of weekends. And GAP's XS Maternity pants with side stretch is still too big on me. So instead of returning I am hoping it will fit next month as I grow bigger.

Haha, I do feel pretty good about it... in hindsight. A lot of the time I just felt like the old, slow, chubby lady out on the trail, getting passed constantly by energetic little 20 year olds. It got emotionally challenging at times.
