TTC over 40 after loss (no heartbeat)1 cycle ivf

Hello ladies,

after looking SO many posts I couldn't find a place that I fit. I could really use some help. I am 42. I am ttc. I had my first cycle of ivf in December. January 7, 2015 we had our first ultrasound only to find no heartbeat. We have to go back next week when we will be 7 weeks 2 days to make sure. Dr. said it could go either way but I know there will be no change.

Is anyone else going through or gone through this?? I feel completely alone

Not really sure where this one belongs either. I'd say if you are asking the question if anyone has had no hearbeat and had it turn out to be a successful heartbeat, pregnancy after IF might be the right board... if you are looking for someone that has been through a loss there are a few here. I see you posted on TTC after a loss as well.

don't lose hope yet! There are quite a few of us here who have had losses in the past and who have had successful pregnancies as well. If you had your u/s a couple days ago at what I'm assuming is 6w2d (since next week would be 7w2d), and you saw something other than an empty sac and you haven't had any bleeding, I think there's still a chance (don't want to get your hopes up though, because it's true, it could go either way).

My daughter's due date got moved back by almost 2 weeks because of at her dating u/s, she measured way behind. If we had gone to our u/s at 6w instead of closer to 8, I don't think they would've seen a heartbeat either. I really hope things change for you, and if they do, I'm sure you will find some good support on some other boards, but if not, the women here on this board are amazing, so please join us.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I had a similar experience in that an initial u/s showed no heartbeat, so I had to return a week later. I wish you all the best in this journey.

I'm sorry you are going through this. With my loss, it was at an 8 week appointment and baby measured 6 weeks 1 day. Because there was a fetal pole, but I was certain of my O date, my doctor did 2 beta draws to check and see how my numbers were changing because at 6w1d the heartbeat could come in a few days if everything was okay.

So as previous people have said, it could go either way since your dates are pretty accurate and 6 weeks is when the heartbeat starts. I hope everything is okay at your next u/s.
