Flying with LOs

B and I are flying solo to DC tomorrow since DH is driving out.

Two quick questions. First, if you let Lo watch a movie on an iPhone or tablet, did you use headphones? Just your regular iPhone headphones or another kind?

Anything else you brought along that helped keep the peace? I'm bringing snacks, a whole season of Curious Geoege, her lovie and crayons/coloring book.

Am I missing anything?
Our little Samosa arrives in January!

Re: Flying with LOs

  • when we flew to florida we had the ipad with us for movies....she never wore headphones before, so we didn't bring any, but we also didn't have any sound on...she's used to little or no volume because that's how she watches them at home at night sometimes.....
we also brought along one of her buckle toys to keep her entertained and one of those imagine ink book/marker things....
also lollipops...(which she is now obsessed with) and tons of goldfish
however, we also had her as a lap child (wasn't 2 yet)

    good luck

  • I'm probably going to buy some headphones soon to get DD used to them because when we fly back to the US it'll just be me and her. I'll buy a few episodes of Daniel Tiger, only those with baby Madeleine because DD is obsessed, and I want to get the headphones that cover her ear, not the buds that go in.

Lots of snack pouches, we got a little like aqua doodle board and sigh, that's going to be a long flight…

    Anyways, GL!
  • The PP's shared some great ideas. When you have more time, I would suggest checking out some magazines at the library. DS loves to read, and I found magazines lighter and easier to carry. The magazines he likes are High Five, Thomas the Tank Engine, Ranger Rick Toddlers, Chirp, and Junebug. I only let him read them on the flights (as opposed to the destination).
