Holiday specific outfits

Cleaning through DD's clothes and got thinking about all the holiday specific shirts she has (ex: "My 1st Christmas"). Do you re-wear these regardless of what's written on them or do you wear it for the occasion and put it away afterwards? I tend to re-wear them on her around the house.

Re: Holiday specific outfits

  • Re-wear them but just around the house.

  • Re-wear around the house fo sho. I don't plan on having more than a couple kids so it's not like I'll need them to be fresh, and even then, I don't know what season #2 will be born in... Today he wore a onesie with a Christmas colored plaid moose on it... At least it didn't blatantly say "merry Christmas"....

So far they stay in her drawer and I think a Halloween and Thanksgiving one were worn a couple more times around the house. I sent two Chrisrmas-ish (no obvious merry Christmas on them) outfits to be back up clothes at daycare.
  • Pretty much once and done. DD has an insane amount of clothes so she doesn't wear a lot of them many times.

  • After the holiday they are done.

  • DS (5) chooses Christmas pjs almost every night. Lol. I don't buy him holiday specific clothing really. With DD I've been packing holiday attire up after it's passed b/c she has so many clothes anyway. My SIL and I share a lot so they will get more than one use.

  • @TheGreatBeyond‌ good idea to send them as backup at daycare!
  • Both kids get holiday specific clothing. The Christmas stuff I let them wear after Christmas because they don't say anything about holidays on them. I save some of it. The rest of DD's stuff is being passed on to my niece and a friend's daughter. DS's stuff will be sold or donated.
  • I usually pass them on to friends.  One of my good friends just had a son on DS2's birthday so finding a recipient is easy this time around.

  • DD doesn't wear it past the holiday.  I have bought all her holiday specific outfits used for a few dollars or it was given to us.  A few of the gender neutral outfits I am passing to my cousin for her son. The others I am saving in case I have another girl that will happen to fit the same sizes for the holidays.  If not, then I will give them away then.
