36 week Hip Pain

Hey ladies, I am curious how much pain you have had in week 36. Last night I got a sudden onset of major hip pain in my left hip to the point I was crying...like a 6 or 7 on the pain scale.

  • 36 weeks in no pain. Probably not helpful. Everyones experience is different there is no comparing
  • Google symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD). It's probably what you are experiencing. I'll 36 weeks on Friday and some days have no pain and some days have excruciating hip pain.

Wow, I'm a TV MD and I couldn't diagnose this over the internet. You must have gone to school longer to be an Internet MD where they do the special training on internet diagnosis.
@thedish0207 you're still doing a great job as a TV MD.

I've had hip pain for the last couple of weeks. My hip bones feel like they're bruised. Then LO will go and punch or kick me near my bone and it HURTS! It's all part of pregnancy. You aren't alone. :)

  • Try sleeping with a pillow between your legs. That really helps my hips feel better

  • Only 34 weeks here! I have found a thick pillow between your legs at night helps alot, warm baths, and hot packs. Hang in there! You're so close to delivering that bundle of joy and you'll forget about the hip pain!

  • Hey everyone! Just an update: I had some tests done and it was some SPD, but mostly caused because my baby decided to drop before my hips had time to move out of the way. Thank you to those who gave advice.
