Follicle size-too big?

I had IUI #4 yesterday & of course, I'm already beginning the torture of the TWW. I got to thinking about my follicle size. I had 3 at the time of IUI. When I went in for a scan the day before IUI they were 27, 21, & 17mm. I have read some articles saying the 27 may be "too ripe".
Have any of you heard this before? But I'd still have two goods ones, the 21 & 17, right?

DH (41)-no MFI
07/2014-Femara 5mg + trigger + IUI= chem preg ;(
08/2014-Femara 5mg + trigger + IUI + 2nd trigger= BFN
09/2014-Clomid 100mg + trigger + IUI + 2nd trigger= BFN
10/2014-benched due to RE out of town, tying naturally!
11/2014-benched due to cyst
12/2014-Femara 5mg + stair step with additional 5 days Femara 5mg + trigger + IUI=BFN
01/2015-Femara 5mg + Gonal F 25 units + trigger (plus additional Gonal F 100 units on trigger night) + IUI= BFP!!! Twins due 10/2015
09/28/2015- Surprise!  Conrad and Hudson born at 35w6d!

    Yes-I triggered immediately following my scan; so about 18 hours before IUI

    I was super excited about the 27 but then I started thinking it seems pretty large. Here's hoping those other two weren't old & crusty also :) Thanks!!

    For Clomid, I believe it's typical to trigger after 20mm. So your smaller two should be in the perfect range. :)

    Thanks so much! I stress myself to death & need to chill :) I was on femara this round but am assuming they want the same size as clomid?

    Interesting. Do you know what they consider mature for natural & inject cycles? I've also read that they like to see them grow more slowly rather than super huge, super fast.

    @BlueFairy5 thanks for the clairification! I had my first inject cycle and am currently in the two week window.  We had two 16.9 follicles at my last ultrasound, and they had me trigger the following evening, and I was worried they were too small!!!  No one ever explained to me that peak size is different for different meds!    I've found that if I don't ask questions, my RE office just doesn't explain ANYTHING!

    IUI 3 & 4-  50 mg Clomid+ Trigger = BFN
     IUI 5 & 6 50mg Clomid +Trigger + Crinone = BFFN
    Benched Dec 2014
    IUI 7 - gonal-f + trigger + Crinone = BFFN

    oral meds: 18-24mm
    FSH (Follistim, Gonal-F) only: 17mm minimum (not sure if they set a cap around 24?)
    FSH + LH (Menopur? I think? I should know this since I'll be on it): 16mm minimum

    And keep in mind that after you trigger, they've still got about 36 hours to grow before they release.
