Oh my gosh guys, I'm so sorry I slacked on the GTKY post on Monday. Things are crazy at work so it just slipped my mind. I can't think of creative questions to ask right now so I want to steal an idea I saw while lurking on TTGP: AW your engagement/wedding bling!!

18k white gold insert with half a carat of diamonds. The solitaire is a 1.02 princess cut in 14k white gold. It's actually really sparkly but my iPhone camera sucks.

Love seeing everyone's bling! DH picked out my engagement ring and it is everything I've always wanted - 3 stone princess cut. I LOVE it!!!! Since this is from our wedding DH's ring is in there too. It's actually a ring I bought him when we were dating. It's saying "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine" in Hebrew. I wanted to get him a newer, fancier version for a wedding band (since it's just silver), but he told me that ring had been with him on two deployments, and it was the only one he wanted to wear. I almost melted at the sweet sentiment. Of course, he likes to rub in the total cost of my rings compared to his!

This is so fun!

I don't have any pics of my rings and I don't know how to get photos from my phone to here, so...mine is very much like this picture, but with a tiny diamond on each side. It's white gold with a garnet, the stone in Laura Ingalls' engagement ring from Almanzo, so something I'd fantasized about since I was little.

On a Sunday buggy ride...

Almanzo: What would you say if someone proposed?

Laura: It would depend on who was proposing.

Almanzo: If it were me?

Laura: It would depend on the ring.

...next Sunday buggy ride...

Almanzo: Will you marry me? (gives her garnet ring set with 2 pearls)

Laura: Sure!

DH was in China when I decided it was time for him to propose to me (Lol), so I chose and bought my own ring and then I could wear it and show it off for a few months in the US before moving there. Later, we bought a platinum wedding band for me and a gold band for him.

He cut out and made 999 paper roses, each with 23 petals, the age I would be when we got married, and showed me on Skype. He was so excited to tell me all about this huge project, so he didn't actually ask or wait for my answer...just got down on one knee and started talking.

MH and I talked a lot about getting married since we'd been together for 5 years by the time we got married. So my ring was not a surprise at all. I was actually with him when he bought it! We went with a smaller diamond in a fancier setting and I love it. The sides are all engraved and it's very antique looking!

I love them all!!

Mine was MIL wedding ring. His parents are divorced, and she had it modified afterwards. Everyone gets along so it didn't feel like a bad omen. Also, FIL gave us his old ring to pay for MH's ring (he had to get cobalt so that he could use it to open beer...sigh). Anyways, I love it. Oh and as you can see we ordered takeout for dinner.

@LindseyM2012‌ this is fun to see everyone's bling! Beyond engagement, you rarely get asked to see the ring. But I do tend to get compliments on mine an awful lot! I absolutely love it! DH tells funny story of when he was shopping for the ring, setting and diamonds he had the sales guy take the centre stone out of the store into the mall and then also outside so he could see what it looks like in real life . He also made the guy take the diamond to another jeweller in the mall and basically said to them both 'why should I buy your ring?' He makes me laugh! @Cupcakegal930‌ I LOVE the shoes! Gorgeous! @firstarabesque‌ I love the story behind your ring! It's beautiful! @shafwilson‌ I love your story about YH ring! That is beautiful! We also joke about the price of our rings. We ended up ordering DH ring on eBay for $18! He loves it and almost 4 1/2 years later it is still solid and great! I figure if he losses it, then we won't be upset! Lol Here is my set! I couldn't find an electronic version of our wedding photo, so here is a picture. Stupid iPad showing how old and wrinkly my hands are! Lol! And in desperate need of a manicure, but here you go!

OMG love this post!

This is my new engagement ring. I am OBSESSED with it. The diamond was my grandmothers from the 1940's. She was married for a long time so I hope the diamond gives us some relationship luck (it did not provide luck for me and my ex husband lol)! The ring is set in rose gold, which I never thought I would go for, but I love it!

@firststarbesque the fiance actually got the band when he bought the engagement ring. It is a very, very thin rose gold ring with pave diamonds. I'm excited to wear the set together! I hear ya on our men getting the ring for free lol. I was kind of annoyed my ex husband didn't spend money on my actual diamond and insisted he get the diamond and wedding band set in platinum since it is more expensive (I was kind of a bitch about it lol). Funny thing is I traded in my old engagement ring setting and wedding band and holy shit the value of platinum has gone way down, and I had a few jewelers say they would have given me more if it was set in gold!

This is a photo taken on our wedding day. DH did a great job picking out my ring. I told him I wanted princess cut and white gold. He picked an engagement ring where the diamond setting doesn't stick out too much to get caught on things and so I can put latex gloves on at work without taking the ring off. My wedding band has our wedding date inscribed on the inside. DH's ring is a titanium ring with a gold inlay.

I love my bling! DH proposed after 8 years of us being together. My dream was for my grandfather to design my ring, but he sold the jewelery store a couple years before DH proposed. It means the world to me that my grandfather steered DH in the right direction of who to help him put it together.

SHOOT! I started the thread and am one of the latest. Life is just too busy these days.

Here is my ring (hopefully the picture works). 2ct aquamarine center stone w/ just under .5ct diamonds on either side. We had been talking about marriage for a bit and my husband said he needed ideas for what I want in an engagement ring. I thought I wanted a solitaire diamond but when I saw a picture similar to my ring, I decided I do NOT want a diamond center stone. So hubby was like, "Now you REALLY have to help a boy out." So we took the picture I fell in love with to a family friend and said, "Please make this for us." The jeweler did an AMAZING JOB!! The band is just simple diamonds to match the size of the diamonds in my big ring. I love that I still get compliments on this ring after 3 years. Hubby spoils me

@kensie5226 - You're so sweet! I have to give myself weekly manicures because if I didn't, my nails would never stay this long. My husband will even comment when my nails are "naked" because its just weird.
