My LO has just started putting consonants with vowels and making sounds with them. Yesterday he gave a loud resounding BOO! Tonight it was high-pitched science-fictiony sounding "Boom boom!" I love it!
When my little guy needs something he says "MA!!" Clear as a bell and occasionally he stretches it out to "mooo-ooommm" with variations in his voice. It's super cute and always when he's getting hungry and dad has him. He knows who his favorite person is!
I get the giiiiish alot as well as ooohs and aaahs. I've heard the occasional what-almost-kind-of-sounded-like-mom-but-probably wasn't. The only "word' I would say he has uttered has been "yeah".
He says it a lot when he wants something. Like when he's grabbing for his bottle. "Yeahyeahyeahyeahyeah."
We get a ney sound that DH and I are convinced makes DS sound like a 1920's gangster. Like ney see you'll never take me alive coppers. Which of course starts us on a whole scenario where they will never take DS from whatever we come up with at the moment. We think it's funny.
We've only gotten vowels. She likes to vary the pitch and length so a lot of the time it's like she's singing to herself. She a chatterbox and does this pretty much every waking moment now
My ds has just started mmmm sounds. Every once and awhile it sounds like he says mmmmmmoommmma. He finally did it in front of dh, and dh said, "no he's saying Obama." He just doesn't want to admit he'll say momma before dad. It is a no brainer he will say momma first because all day he hears his older sister yelling MOMMA!
These are so much fun to read! I hear a lot of the "gishies" as well. On the first day of his life he said a loud and clear accidental "Mama" -- it surprised my husband and I as well as the nurse who was standing there with him. I've been teasing my husband for months about Mama being his first word. I can hardly wait to see what new thing he's going to say/do next.
Mine discovered a gargled "G" sound...he did it once a few nights ago then spent a long time trying to figure out how he did it. Since then, it's his favorite noise to make.
Same here, he's so amused by the gargle but also periodically exclaims something that sounds just like " oh shit" that it turns heads. It's more like oshhhht but it's still hilarious when it rings out.
@Soogerplum -- That corner is very soon. My LO has only been chatty for about 2 or 3 weeks -- he'll be 4 months next week.
@JudyBlume14 -- Too funny! Isn't it that way, though. DH is convinced that LO is the most advanced baby ever and will be graduated from college by the time he's 18. (I just smile and say -- um, no!)
