Crunchy MF

I'm noticing that our older microfiber inserts and FTs are feeling a little more... crunchy? crispy? less-soft... than the newer ones.

Is there anything I can do to combat this? We don't have any leaks or stink or anything.
We wash in soft water with Tide.

    RLR.  It's probably detergent build up.  So hot water washes and/or RLR.  Or washing soda.
