February 2015 Moms

worried!!!!!!

Just found out today that my amniotic fluid has lower to a 8! I have been drinking alot of water more then often because i am on stool softeners and iron pills! So i have to drink plenty of fluids! I am worried because my mother had this same problem with my sister! My doctor told me to rest and NO SEX! The no sex is easy but the rest is hard with my children 6,4,3 they dont help much and hubby works! I have only one week to get it back up before my ultrasound this Monday! I dont not believe my baby will make it to February 18! Has this happen to anyone else and what do i do!

  • Push water and find this they make the kids sit still so you can sit still with your feet up. Follow Dr's orders.

  • I had this with my now 3 yr old daughter. I was under high risk care so they watched me very well. I was going weekly and all was good till a Friday US, they noticed my fluid was basically gone. They asked if I had ruptured, leaked or anything and I said no. I wasn't allowed to leave the dr, I was sent straight to L&D and has my daughter 4 hours later via emergency Csection. They said she wouldn't have made it through the weekend. I'm not telling you the s to scare u but things can change in an instant. Do exactly what your dr is saying, push fluids and I'm praying that your levels go up
  • Thanks you all! I had gone to L&D the night before just to makt them run some test on me! They has i haven't been leaking and my stress level of normal for a busy mom! My ultrasound s Monday to see if it has lower! I dont have family around for help and hubby works two jobs and not much friends near me! My six year old help keep things off the floor and helps do dishes! I drink lots of water just to go number 2! And for my iron! I have up my fluid intake and try to stay in bed as much as i can! This is the first time i had this happen! Now baby is always moving she moves more then normal! When hubby is home he plays mommy for me! He is a great help! And make our oldest do a lot of things even her own clothes with his of course! I am only worry because of a the story! But my mom and friends believe its because the baby would love to see mommy! But i would love to see a healthy baby! Even my mother in law wishes she could be ere to help but she lives way to far!
Truly thankful! To all of you to help lut my worries away!

Has your dr said they were concerned with the fluids measuring at 8? At my ultrasound yesterday they said anything from 5 to 20 was normal.

ETA: I am just wondering because that seems like a wide difference to me.
  • Drink water, get help for the kids, listen to your doctor.

    And find the period button.
    Anniversary

  • My fluid was less than 3 at 32 weeks with my first. They gave me steroid shots to develop her lungs just in case they had to deliver her that weekend. I was heavily monitored and drank water almost nonstop. Got my fluid up to 6-7 and carried til 39 weeks when they wanted to induce. Just follow your doctors orders and hopefully your fluids will increase and you can carry til mic closer to your due date.

  • I am at 0.9 fluid and on Bedrest in the Hospital. My Baby is strong and hanging in there according to the monitoring I get twice a day. I drink a lot of water but with my water being broken since November 25th, it's not doing much good. Trust your Drs. And do your best to follow orders. I'm told I can make it to 34 weeks at this next to nothing low level and trust that my Drs. Know what there doing. Ps.. Put this kids to work. Your lucky you get to be home and see there little faces. Good luck!
  • Glad everything is ok!!!! Now onto finding and mastering the use of the period button.

Yeah my phone is crazy once I use it one time it stays I forget to change it back lol.

I am high risk still top it off I got diabetes! But my level is back at 8! Just at normal I have to go weekly now and they do a lung test so far she has shown great in that area that I don't have to take nothing for that! I believe they will induce after 37 weeks because they only set appointment for this month and I due late February. Baby is almost 6lbs. Now so not sure how that works for me at 34 weeks. And sorry for the ! It's this stupid phone I have to go back and change it.
  • ............ I changed it back lol
  • Glad your level is back at 8. It's definitely a tough situation to be in. And scary too. Last week my level dropped from 12.5 to 7.5. This week it's still at 7.5. It's the bottom of normal but still considered normal. I don't have high blood pressure issues like I did last pregnancy though. Not sure at all why it dropped.

Just hang in there and do what your doctor tells you to do. You may have to go to the specialist 2-3 times a week to be monitored. It may feel like too much but just do what they tell you to do. Also, pack your hospital bag now and take it with you to all appointments. Like a PP said, you may be sent straight to the hospital from an appointment. So you need to be prepared for it. Best of luck. Will be thinking about you.
