I just got back from the periodontist, and I have a pregnancy granuloma in my mouth
It is driving me NUTS and it makes me speak with a lisp. I have to try really hard to talk normally. They tried to schedule me for removal in three weeks! I was like...no, I will almost be giving birth by then. So I'll have to travel to an office further away (like I care at this point) and they are calling me tomorrow to schedule.
He said it will only take about 20 minutes to remove and acted like it was NBD. I'm scared shitless. Anyone ever go through this or know anyone that had one of these things removed at 35+ weeks? I'm trying to stay off google...any reassurance would be appreciated!
Re: Pregnancy Granuloma
He seems to think it was caused by an injury because of the location (think burning the roof of your mouth on hot pizza). So hopefully, it won't grow back.
Let this be a lesson...wait for that pizza to cool!
Instead of the appointment (I had to fight for) on the 19th, my husband used his God given phone talent and got me in *today*! I'm so relieved!
Thank you for your crossed fingers and T&P's ... Think of me at 2:30 today :-D
Thinking of you, good luck!

Bringing them both home...UPDATE...The girls are home!!! 1/7/15 after 20 days in the NICU!
Thank goodness.
I have 3 sutures and the local is starting to wear off. It doesn't feel too great, but so much better than the huge tumor behind my front teeth.
They let me look at it after it was out. It looked like a big pebble.
@PeaceofKia they gave me the mouthwash but it just kept growing and I really pushed for it to be out. The doctor did it on his lunch break for me, it took 25 minutes. FX yours goes smoothly! Get it scheduled!
@smcniff I hope yours goes away! If not--don't be afraid to schedule it. It's worth it.
Y'all need to stop googling stuff. It's like watching a monster truck derby to see what driving on the freeway with trucks is like.
The removal of those granulomas is nbd. True story. See how OP lived? Normal.

Sorry, not trying to take away from OP's pain and suffering or make light of her at all. I am glad everything is resolved.
