Hi ladies. I'm sorry to be part of this club but I'm so glad there is such a great support network for women after losses. I posted in the newbie check in and was welcomed and encouraged to intro despite your board being inundated with intros. I've also intro'd over at TTGP because I've been lurking both boards and love you all.
Im Kali. You may be able to see in my siggy that I'm 28 and DH is 34. We've been TTC since late August after Mirena removal. I got my first BFP 4 months in and unfortunately had a blighted ovum that ended in a nmc at around 7w5d. It was almost exactly a year ago and I joined TTCAL and TTGP at that time as well and was an active member until April when I needed a numb break bc I was going a little nutty.
We started TTC again pretty soon after our nmc and I began seeing the RE in July at my OBs recommendation. Both DH and I were tested and all results have come back normal. I was out on synthroid to help bring my TSH down from 2.5 to between 1-2 per a study that showed some evidence it could help. We continued to tweak the synthroid and test for hoshimotos just to be safe and then were told we could start meds around dec/jan. Dec 2 I got a script for clomid from the RE for the following cycle and then the next day had some strange symptoms and tested and got a BFP. We did betas and they were rising beautifully until the 4th one (after some left sided cramping and an us) that didn't double. This is where my limbo began. Over the next 24 days I had 3 ultrasounds each a little more concerning than the first. On the second the fetus measured small, the gestational sac smaller, the heartbeat low at 74 and a large yolk sac. We were pretty much told to prepare for the worst. A week later (this past Monday) the heartbeat was gone and the sac was caved in. I had my D&C today.
I'm sorry for the long winded intro. It's still a bit fresh. I'm having analysis done of the fetus and we will see if there's anything that would explain the two losses. Most likely not but we will see. Anyways, I'm handling things fairly well. I had a lot of limbo and time to detach and begin grieving. I'm ready to get back to real life and try try again.
The D&C did not scrape the lining and so I was told we did not need to TTA. I will be having a follow up soon and can go over game plans for future TTC. At the current time I've been instructed nothing down yonder until the bleeding stops which should be less than 2 weeks (per md). I think we will stay pretty low key until I get my first AF.
In the meantime I'd love to get to know you all and hang out with you. A little about me sans TTC history: I'm an ICU nurse and I also have an at home business. DH and I have been married almost 2.5 years, together for 6.5. We have two mini Aussie doodles that are our love bugs. I love working out, watching tv, big sweaters with leggings, cupcake muscato (yum!), and games. We got a roomba for Christmas and a vacuum cleaner has never been so exciting and amusing!
