Re: Poop Poll

  • Love a good poop poll. I always change the poopers cause sitting in that will give her a rash

  • I chose SS for the same reasons as @NinerGirl52‌

She only poops every 24 to 36 hours, and such a force of nature always wakes her up. But if it did happen to not wake her, I would still change it. We've been rash free thus far and I don't want to risk ruining that.

  • Why risk a rash? Check the diaper around the legs to see if it's poopy or just a misleading fart. A painful rash is no fun for the baby AND the mama. Now if it happened while everyone is sleeping then not much you can do but that's less time LO has to spend sitting on poop vs all night.
  • What about poops while you are changing the diaper? You just wiped their little bottoms, put that fresh diaper on, then bam! Poop all over the diaper.

  • Most of the time they are just some really good farts.  I wouldn't risk it espically if they have been fussy all day.  There are have been lots of times DD is farting up a storm and sometimes the smell lingers so we think she poops and NOPE just a really good farter.

Ha, yep I change those @turtles7‌ . It's those blasted snaps that take forever to rebutton that send him over the edge. I'm grateful if he's already undressed!
  • I change her. I was changing her for pee, too, up until just this past week, and finally got out of that habit (she had a bad rash for weeks--we switched her to cloth a little over a month ago to get rid of it, but old habits die hard).

  • That's a hard one ... but I said change it. I read that waiting to change can lead to a uti and that scared me :(

  • I make sure it's a poop and not a huge lingering fart and then change.  The thought of her sitting in her poop makes me sad.  Her poops tend to go up towards her lady parts and I just get icked out thinking about poop in her bits.

  • SS -- If she doesn't have a rash, leave it be. If I know she already has a rash, change it. She has insanely sensitive skin.
    It's a girl! Due November 22, 2014
  • My LO had sensitive skin so we always change it right away. Besides usually she's super fussy because she's been working on that poop for a awhile and once it's out she relaxes and falls right asleep.
  • Good poll. DD was such a girl, she hated being dirty and would cry until she has a perfectly clean diaper. My boy cries until he poops and then passes out instantly. But then I change him and we're up for an hour or two.
  • At "bed time"? I change it. That's happened many times. I've changed her, nursed her and then minutes later she poops. Since she usually goes 4-5 hour stretches that's a long time to sit in poop.

    Exactly.

The other night C woke up, I changed her wet diaper.  Start to feed, she poops, change her because she hates being dirty, feed her some more, 10 minutes later she poops again.  3 diaper changes in like 20 minutes.  These kids, I tell ya!  I joke with her that for every extra diaper change we're taking a quarter out of her college fund.

She always poops when she's eating.  I keep telling her not to shit where she eats but she doesn't listen.

  • I always change it. Besides the reasons listed already, poop that's been sitting an hour or two is much harder to clean.
