Pregnant after 35

Still waiting on injection approval with new OB!!??

Ok ladies.. I have about had it with my insurance plan. I am so irritated! Some of you may remember me posting about switching to a new OB closer to my work/home so that I didn't have to travel an hour to appt's once a week and burn FMLA etc.  I receive injections to prevent preterm labor weekly. I've had two.  if I had a normal non-HR pregnancy.. I would just stay with my normal HR docs but because I have to go weekly... I wanted to switch to someone closer to home and work so that I wasn't missing so much work and traveling so far.  I found a doc that actually does the injections here but my insurance is taking forever to get it done!  I've been on the phone with the dispensing pharmacy for two stinkin' days!  My plan says they're billing it wrong and should be billing under medical and not pharmacy.  So i called the pharmacy back and tell them this..  so they said oh ok yes we will correct that.  Once again today.. they call and they're saying oh well the insurance won't approve because you have to pay your deductible. O.M.G.  I do not have a deductible for medical which is what you are supposed to be billing it under which we just discussed YESTERDAY. Seriously people.

So once again.. I may STILL have to travel an hour next week for my third injection because they will not approve and ship the med to this new OB.  It's already been approved at the other hospital.. I've had two already.. I'm only trying to transfer care..

I am so annoyed.  The entire reason I was transferring care was to make this less complicated.. not more complicated. I mean at this point I'm wishing I just would have left it be!

Re: Still waiting on injection approval with new OB!!??

  • That stinks!  I can't imagine how frustrating that must be.  Dealing with insurance companies is never fun.

Hang in there.  Hope you get it resolved soon!

  • I absolutely hate insurance companies. Nothing is ever about patient care. I'm so sorry, I hope they remove their heads from their rears and straighten this out for you. Boo.
