I hope your baby stays in as long as they can. Why would you want to have baby so early? There are huge developmental advances during the last few weeks.
Also you can be dilated and not in labor for weeks.
Maybe baby has dropped (I was told the belly pressure will be more in the low areas instead of your ribs/stomach area, after dropping happens), and this is why you're feeling........ whatever you described. You should want to keep your babe in there as long as possible though. Call your doctor's office for some good answers.
What is with all the moms wishing for a preemie. I just don't get it. My sis was a "planned preemie". And even though my parents expected her early and planned for it, she still had issues. She was the very early but developed as if she were a 35 weeker. I can tell you this she was jaundice, had clotting issues with her blood, under 5 lbs, and was constantly sick until she was about 2. She also had developmental delays like walking late, didn't get her first tooth until she was almost 18 mo, and eating issues. With that said she is a healthy 27 year old woman now. But it def wasn't so easy for my family. Wanting to start dilating at 35 weeks is just fucking crazy if you ask me.
Now I will be the first to admit with some of my health issues, the thought has crossed my mind ugh I'm so done I wish he was hear already. But my thinking is I wish it was 40 weeks already not I wish I could go into labor now at 34 weeks. I wish for a fast forward button that what I would like. OP maybe you should rethink your statements and think it over a bit.
I have no love for someone who hopes they are dilating already at 35 weeks when I am 35w4d with twins and just hoping to hold them as long as I can. Go away.

Twins? You mean two babies? WOW!

We are excited to meet William Alexander and Harper Abigail in 2015!
This makes me sad, my waters broke at 29 weeks and I have to have my baby 34/35 weeks. Because of risk of infection. I'm frightened of having a prem baby. I hope she's going to be ok :-<
My husband was a premie at 35 weeks and he was in the NICU for 10 days with serious issues. He also had developmental delays which have caused him to have a severe stutter his entire life (may or may not have to do with early birth, they don't know). Plus, read up on the board a bit on what others have posted regarding their experiences and stories (altho you may rush through that too). Babies are delicate when born at even 40 weeks; impatient people make me sad.
The questionable desire for a preemie has already been addressed.
I would like to add that my baby dropped about two weeks ago, so there's been all sorts of weird feelings going on. It feels like the baby is going to come out. There is a lot of pressure and cervical pain. I have cramps every night (like menstrual cramps).
However, at my appointment on Monday, my OB said my cervix is long (read, 0% effaced) and completely closed. All my symptoms are totally normal for a 1st time mom at 35+ weeks.
How your V feels means nothing at this point. You may be dilating, you may not be. Even if you are slightly dilated, it doesn't mean you are going to be delivering any time soon. See any pregnant woman's war story about being 3 cm (or more) for weeks before delivery.
We are all happy at the thought that soon we will see our babies, but don't get carried away by wanting the baby out sooner than necessary.

Answer to what question? I don't see any questions.
Jeesh, every few hours there's a new rando rides out of nowhere to post something ridiculous.
I'm confused. What exactly does it feel like to have your vagina open up? I must have missed that part last time I gave birth, you know when my vagina was actually opening up.

Wow. Vaginas opening up is exactly what I needed to envision today. Nasty. This makes me wish that OP doesn't go in labor until 42 weeks. Who wishes for an early baby?
Uhh, it seems PP have taken care of pointing out the ridiculousness of you being happy about dilating early and your vagina opening, so I won't repeat any of that. OP I think your baby dropped. It means nothing. FTM's usually have baby's head engage and drop around 34-36 weeks. But it can happen at any time! I don't see how you're so ecstatic about it. My LO dropped 2 days ago and the pressure on my hips and lower stomach are more than uncomfortable. And I constantly feel like I have to pee. Please tell me what makes you enjoy that?

If you've been practicing fisting properly, then yes, your vagina might be more opened.

I would love to have this girl explain to me how:
1-babies are made
2-she thinks she got pregnant
3-labor and delivery are supposed to go
4-many states are in the union
5-to count higher than 5 ("What the heck comes after 5, OP? Come on, girlfriend! I believe in you!)
VAGINAS DILATING. You couldn't make this up if you tried. It is too good.
