U/S Sac but no baby??? :(

Had a u/s yesterday but we only saw a sac, I thought I was 9 weeks, my doctor said 7/8 and u/s said 6/7. They did a transvaginal and still nothing. My husband's hopeful but I'm heart broken, I have a feeling another m/c, this will be my 4th, has this happened to anyone else? What were the results?

I'm so sorry you are in limbo. I'll preface this by saying that other people's experiences have no bearing on your own, but I know it can help to read other's stories during difficult times... I had an ultrasound at 7weeks (based on LMP), there was a gestational sac but no embryo or yolk sac, and u/s determined I was actually 5w6d. They said it could be too early or was a blighted ovum. 11 days later I had a follow-up u/s... we saw a nice big gummy bear with a strong heartbeat (measuring about 8 weeks). Our first u/s was just too early, and our Bean was a late bloomer. Could your dates be off? I hope that you get wonderful news at your next appt, my fingers will be crossed for you!

This also happened to me. My first sonogram showed sac no fetus. 9 days later there was a fetus and a heartbeat. It's impossible, I know, but try to stay positive. The waiting is the absolute worst. I feel like I am still waiting because although I saw heartbeat on 12/31 the doctor never called me to review the report. He had some kind of famly emergency so I am headed to see a new doc tomorrow.

I digress. I hope you get good news. I'm sorry for all the losses you have suffered.

This literally just happened to me. I had my first sonogram this morning, I thought I was nine weeks, but all they saw was an empty sac. I had blood taken today and I have to go back Friday for more blood work to see if my numbers double. Personally I think it is very unlikely that I ovulated late and so I am preparing for the worst. But, you never know what might happen.

So, I don't have any previous experiences, but just know you are not alone. I will be hoping for a good outcome for both of us.

When this happened to me (several years ago) it was not good news. However, we also had the indicator for m/c that my blood work #'s were not doubling fast enough. I hope this is not the case for you and that you are just early. Have you had your blood work done? Were your hCG levels good? I hope and will pray for the best for you and your baby!

they saw a sac only last week ( 7weeks) and today i went again there it was with a heartbeat so dont worry too much about it....Good luck and wait a little more

This happened to me last year in August. I was 6w5d and they only saw a sac. She had me come back in a week which the sac measured 7w5d. Still no fetal pole or yolk sac. I had a blighted ovum. I decided to go the DNC route so we could start trying as soon as possible.

But then again it's still early, hopefully they can see something soon! Wishing you all the best!

At my first appointment, we only had a yolk sack, I was actually just 5 weeks- but based on my LMP we thought I was over 7 weeks. I went back 3 weeks later and measures 8 weeks with a baby and heart beat! I know it's hard, but try to keep your head up! I hope for the best for you!

So if you got your bfp a month later on 12/3, lets say you got it at the absolute earliest possible point, you would have been 3 weeks plus a few days. Which means by now you should be 7 weeks plus a few. They said you were either 6/7, so its possible. Good luck.

A pregnancy is dated that you are two weeks pregnant at ovulation. The earliest possible time to get a positive test is 8 days past ovulation, which means you would be 3weeks1day pregnant. I'm pretending that's what you were on 12/3. Of course we have no idea if that was the case as you were not confirming ovulation. If you were 3weeks1day pregnant on 12/3, by now you would be 7 1/2 weeks pregnant.
