41+1 before eviction.
Part of me wonders how long she would have stayed in there if I didn't get induced...but misery.
My doctor SAID I couldn't have delivered her because my pelvis was too small. I don't know if that's true.
Mine kept saying she was a big baby and I have a small pelvis...and she definitely was a big baby (9 lbs 10 oz) and after 25 hours of labor I was still only at 4 cm because she would not move down...
I've been thinking a lot about baby #2 lately (I'm insane) and trying to decide if I want to attempt a VBAC or just schedule a RCS. Much research will need to be done.

As painful as my recovery was, I'm not attempting a VBAC. Or, at least, I don't think so, and I might talk to the doctor about it, but mostly just to confirm that it's a bad idea. APurp wasn't even that big (7 12.5 at birth), but her head was and is huge, and the doctor, while she was inside me, said to the nurse "look how small her pelvis is, this baby was never coming out." She never dropped, and I never progressed farther than 2 cm. I'm scared the next baby would get stuck and an emergency section would be needed anyway. I've also heard that if you don't go into labor prior to sections, the recovery is better, but that could be horseshit. I just know that while my recovery sucked in the first 4 weeks, at that 4 week mark, I was at 99%. It really is true that every day after recovery is 100% better than the last. So, if I felt 1% good on day one, I was 2 the next day. 4 the next. 8 the next. So, the first few days were awful, but each passing day was much better. If I can just tough it out, which should be easier since I know what to expect, I'm happy with a section.
@SPurp13 CS recovery is 100x better when you aren't in labor first. I labored for 72 hours with my first and then was taken for surgery. Afterwards sucked so hard, DD2 was a planned CS and it was a flawless surgery and recovery. I hope it's the same for you should you have more children.
I mean, I don't even know what a contraction feels like since I had an epi, but I was technically having contractions every minute for like 10 hours before they took me.
We talked about this elsewhere, but did your doctor have restrictions on when you could have the next baby? I'd like to start trying at the one-year mark...I don't know if she will want me to wait longer.
I'm impressed you found a doctor willing to let you put your sons life at risk like that...or were your dates just off?
That's what I'm sayin'. There's no way the dates were right...right?! How much did the kid weigh? Because if he weighed a normal amount, those dates were wrongzo.

There is data that waiting 18 months is better than 12, but as long as you wait at least 12 it is pretty good. (Outcomes wise). For c sections Drs like at least 18 mo between surgeries, but you get that with trying at a year.
This is good to know. My doctor said something during my surgery that had me second guessing her. I said, "the nurse said I have a perfect belly with no stretch marks, and now you're going to ruin it!" and her reply was "it will go back to being flat and perfect with a tiny scar, and you can do it all again in 2 or 3 years!"
I mean, maybe it's just that most people do wait that long. I'll ask when I go in February for my annual. And, plus, also, even if we DO try at a year, chances of it happening right away again are slim.
My dates were right, I was charting my fertility. and my son was only 7.6lbs. I went into labor on 42+5... I stalled every evening until 43+2. I was having nst's and biophysical u/s every other day. It was ridiculous, but everything turned out fine in the end.

My SIL got preg with my niece pretty much at 11 months. Her doctor wasn't ecstatic about it. then she wanted to try VBAC and she was really not cool with that but let her attempt anyway. She didn't have any issues, but my niece tried to come out like superman so they had to c-section anyway. She said her recovery was much easier the second time and this time she actually labored for several hours before the section. But I'm pretty sure she had some post-partum last time and she didn't move hardly at all. I think that can majorly play into how you feel.
A lady I work with went 42 and some change. The midwives wanted to push her to 43 until she busted out in tears. She delivered a 10 lb baby vaginally.....
Baby 1 41 weeks induced Baby 2 40 weeks spontaneous Baby 3 38+1, spontaneous but induced due to stalling. When he was born, they inspected the placenta and guessed that he was actually closer to 40 weeks and assumed the dates were off (I had an early miscarriage and then got pregnant again immediately without a cycle, so who knows!)

I don't know if I was 39+5 or 40+2. My OB always interchanged my due dates and basically wrote it off as "Meh, 4 days makes no difference." I never got a straight answer.
no ss so I checked 42+1 but actually went to 42+2 before induction. I know it's a bit controversial, but my OBGYN was great- was hoping for a natural birth, so lots of monitoring and everything looked good and he was happy to let me go that long, but we decided that if I made it to 42+2 eviction was needed and thats what happened, induction went great with a bishop score of 9, and 7lb11oz healthy vaginal birth with no meds other than the vitaman P (as my nurse referred to pitocin-lol). Any sign of trouble and I would have induced earlier in a heartbeat.

I just thought I would say I will be on baby #4 if we have another and the OB told me 6 months to wait at least... 1 year optimal. That's after 3 c-sections
