polyhydraminos

Anyone else have too much fluid? It hasnt effected me until recently. My stomach is really sore from some areas that feel swollen :(

Re: polyhydraminos

  • Sorry to hear that! Im on the opposite end...I'm on the low end of normal and will be checked again tomorrow. No discomfort from it, but definitely nervous about it dropping further (I got really really low with my first...down to 2-something...but got it up to 6-something and carried til 39 weeks when I was induced). Last Wednesday I was at about 7.5.

  • I'm sorry you're dealing with this! I also am on the other end with low fluid. I hope things get better for you! Fingers crossed! We are all almost there :)
  • On the borderline of too much fluid. My stomach is so tight and it hurts most right around my ribs where it's swollen.
I wish there was more we could do to decrease the fluid but they don't know what's causing mine. I've found that daily baths help as it helps take the pressure off your belly and it doesn't feel as swollen for a while. I'm not normally a bath person but I have one nightly now and it's great (though temporarily) relief. Maybe that would help for you too?
  • I have it. But I haven't had any symptoms that I can tell other than "measuring big".  And I will be going in 2 times a week for monitoring starting next week.  Hope the swelling gets better for you asap. :-(

  • I have it. They are sure what is causing it. I'm almost 36 weeks now. Praying our babies are fine.
  • I am being checked on Monday. I may only be at the upper end of normal and that would be great, but I definitely have the discomfort you are describing. I agree with a previous poster, baths really help provide a little relief. It also helps if I can lay down for a half hour in the afternoon. Braxton hicks contractions seem like they are much worse than in previous pregnancies. Driving is hard because if a contraction hits, it is most certainly painful and there's nothing I can do to change positions. I have to focus hard to stay on the road...good thing I don't drive often, lol. I've had to get on my hands and knees in the middle of the night just to relieve the pressure. Ouch! I wish that the baby would be able to drop in spite of the fluid and get out of my ribs so much. But I guess my biggest hope at this point is that even if I have an extra amount of fluid, there's no identifiable cause and that the baby looks healthy.
